I do, and I still don't care. It does nothing to enhance the gameplay, so I'm not too impressed by it.

The "Preview" edition is out at normal locales.
Yeah, someone at my local college gaming club was playing through it on his GBASP.
Lucky bastard works at EB and a Nintendo rep just out and gave it to him.
Bah.
I've been playing through the "preview" version myself (thanx Chux).
It's quite good.
I didn't realize there were gonna be cutscenes.
BTW: Does anybody wanna fill me in on the Chozo backstory? I never played Prime (I really tried, but the controls just aren't for me) and now there is a bunch of weird stuff in Zero Mission about Chozo ruins, and I was just wondering if there is something big that I missed, story wise.

I so can't wait for Zero Mission! The original NES Metroid was my favorite game I got along with my NES back on Xmas 1987, along with Elevator Action and Castlevania. I played the Hell out of it back then and beat the game without any help, bombing every nook and cranny laboriously to find as many secrets as possible. Quite an accomplishment for a lad of 11.
The Zero Mission remake is getting tons of good reviews and is going to automatically rock based on nostalgia factor alone. Can't wait to battle Kraid again... My favorite Metroid boss ever. Boy, did they screw him up in Super Metroid; he became some fat Jabba the Hut-like blob sitting lazily on his ass. 'What happened to the wicked lil' porcupine from the first game?' I wondered back then. This'll be the first time he properly returns to the Metroid series... Ridley got all the glory in Metroid Prime.
And I hope they also bring back the "decoy Kraid" from the original game. That was such a cool twist. Wait, don't tell me if it's in Zero or not!
P.S. Metroid II was great, my favorite entry in the series since the original. Also creator Gunpei Yokoi's last involvement with the series. Really tense moments as you hunted down the stray mutant Metroid, who would suddenly jump out with a scream.
I played Metroid II for like ten years, finally beating it shortly after I got a GameBoy Color. Most drawn-out gaming experience ever--putting those cartridge save batteries to the test!
One thing that really helped were the Metroid II maps I found online. You can imagine how lost I'd get, coming back to the game periodically over a decade. Map #2 especially was VERY helpful.

Ridley got the glory because didn't Kraid die? I know Ridley was still alive, I just can't remember if it was in Fusion or Prime that he got the robotic upgrades (but I'm thinking Fusion...?). But, I too wanted to see Kraid in Prime as his huge self. But Teddman, you're going to be disspointed in Kraid again judging by screenshots, because he looks to be a big non moving fat ass again :(Quote:

Those Metroid 2 maps rock! I used to get so freakin' lost in that game. Now I'll have to check it out again on my GBA Player. Thanks for the heads up Teddman!
Played this for a few minutes today. I really like the ability to lock your firing angle; does Super Metroid let you do that?
I was a little disappointed by the Brinstar music. It was decent, but a little heavy on the "SNES synth orchestra" sounds to my liking, kind of a disappointment after hearing Super Smash Bros. Melee's rendition.
彫像 - Chouzo - Japanese for "carved statue", often mistaken by NOA as the name of a bird race.Quote:
