Hmm...
I agree that Samus character model looks a bit odd...
It's cool they added an automap.

I just watched it and noticed the ledge grabbing.
Just replace "Super" with "the first Metroid" and you have my new statement. This is shaping up nicely the more I think about it, considering that Metroid NES is the only Metroid I haven't played extensively (excluding 2).Quote:

Odd... The game in the movie and the game in the screen shots appear to be two different games almost...
For one thing the Samus sprite is 100% different. For another thing the game in the video is clearly a Metroid 1 remake, but the game in the screen shots has a boss not seen in Metroid 1 and a Giant Kraid. (Metroid 1 had a regular sized Kraid). Maybe SD Metroid remake is an unlockable after beating the game?
Heh, you're right Chibi. The movie is different from the shots.
Have there been shots of bosses that weren't in Super? Maybe it's a Metroid compilation.
never!Quote:

this looks cool though... With all these new GBA games coming out, I haven't been this excited about new releases since......
I guess I haven't been this excited about new releases.
Looks the same to me (the video and screen shots)
for the most part
interesting seems like a complete remake to make it fit in better in the series (like kraid being huge now)
I cant wait for some full info to be releases
Comparing that screenshot to the first scene in the video, it's clearly a different sprite along with different tilemaps, etc.
The screenshot version of the game looks much, much better than the one in the video.
As well, there's areas in the screenshots that don't seem to be from the original at all. I could be wrong.
And, of course, the new boss shown.
I'm sorta confused.
I hope that video is some type of sick joke, because Samus looks horrendous.
Okay, I'm confused. IGN has posted a different movie of the game (below, 24MB download) that shows the same section of Metroid 1, but with a more traditional graphical style, a normal-looking Samus, and no trail when she jumps. It also shows some sections that look like they were created specifically for the skills that were added in Fusion (wall jump, specifically). Maybe there's an option to choose which graphical style you want, like one mode marked normal and one marked "TEH KIDDIE"? Weird stuff. I can't wait to hear an explanation of what's going on with this.

What the fuck is going on with IGN's footage? That metroid video starts off fine, then the video freezes and loud white noise starts shooting out of my speakers. The same thing happened with their star fox video.
