it looks better then the first game by quite a bit. nicer animations for sure.

still, Retro's style is just way to different from R&D 1. they got the gameplay down for sure, but lack the style.

i really feel the team should be allowed to do their own thing. im sure they could do some awesome shit with Raven Blade, or whatever they planned to do.

retro may have a different style, but i'm certainly not complaining. the overworld, chozo ruins, snow area and the underwater frigate are four of my favorite videogame environments of all time. incredibly stylish stuff.
