it is about 30 seconds of in game footage and then an interview with some asian dude.

Yea, it shows a lot of new stuff... albeit in low-res grainy video. Watching the stream of the confernce earlier made it clear it's an awesome looking game, quite possibly the best Gamecube has to offer graphically. And judging by Leon's actions I would say gameplay is revamped from the stale RE's of old.
