It really needs some cleaning up. There's like... places where the tiles don't line up and shit. I wouldn't even be bothered if it was clean, but it's not.
Now this is really cool. I give nintendo credit for bringing this out.
Sheesh if it didn't come from Nintendo, I would think it's a prank.
i thought it was for gba until at the end it said gamecube. nintendo needs to hire some better programmers ;)
What's with the disappearing characters?
Why would it be for the GBA, when... that's already out... so it wouldn't be at E3.
The question I would pose is:
"Why would I want to buy this, when I could just use the GBA version of four swords on the GBA Player?"
Nintendo must be adding some really cool extra shit to this one in order to answer that question.
This GBA-connectivity thing is getting way out of hand. From GameSpy:
"Miyamoto has gone back and re-worked the four-player mini-adventure from the last GBA Zelda game and made an entire GameCube title specifically with GBA multiplayer gaming in mind. The premise revolves around one GameCube, one TV and four interconnected GBAs. The TV and GameCube give the different colored Links a central display area where the main action happens -- just like, say, the main adventure from A Link to the Past. There are puzzles and teamwork aplenty for the four GBA-holding gamers, but here's the neat thing -- if one Link decides to enter a building, or fall down a hole in the ground, that player is then taken away from the TV display and is on his or her own on the GBA's LCD display. This adds some never-before seen multiplayer connectivity and functionality."
Wow, that sounds... boring. It would be boring even if I owned a GBA, and I'm not going to buy one for something like that. GBA connectivity is a fun gimmick at best, and a pointless, shameless attempt to gouge dollars from people at worst. It shouldn't be the main draw of a game, though.
I'm not sure that requiring GBAs for multiplayer is the best idea from a business standpoint...
But considering we already have a pair of GBA, we'll have a lot of fun with this and Crystal Chronicles.
What he said. This does look awesome tho!:DQuote:

Nintendo is aiming for a small audience with 2-4 GBA's/household.
Doesn't seem like a profitable business strategy to me.
This is bull, I have absolutly no friends with a GBA..and they arn't rich either. Games like Chrystal Chronicles, which I was looking forward to, now won't be playable with 4P.Quote:

The difference between a normal controller and a GBA SP+connector is $90.00
hopefully nintendo will start packing a gamecube in with the gba :)
Delta said something smart. Pack the GC with a Wavebird and one GBA <old style> and a link cable and gba to tv cord. That'd be cool. And a copy of a mascot game, like back in the day.Quote:

The products presented by Nintendo at E3 clearly indicate they're thinking about dollars, not necessarily fun games.Quote:

Someone needs to be the nice guy and post any links he posts, so I can keep ignoring him.
Done and done.Quote:

Here you go. Urp, too late on that.
Well that was a lot of nothing. A decade old (single player oriented)game is definitely "more fun" if up to three other people can play it with me. I guess.
Looks like a cool concept and all but it has a small audience as it is, so keeping the sub par graphics of the GBA version - making them below sub par on the Cube - alienates even more potential customers. So yeah, looks like the big N is all about the Benji's.
I agree, connectivity should be a second hand edition, not the mainstay, and if it is, don't make it for every fucking game that comes out. The way they have it now, GBA's are just really expensive controllers.
I think Nintendo's real plans are to push its GBA audience to move on Gamecube and vice versa.
Thanks.
Why should Nintendo just release their SNES games for the GBA? Release them for the Gamecube for $30 each.
Wow, it wasn't a mistake after all.
When GBA Zelda came out EB had ads in the major magazines and they had a mock up box for Zelda: Four Swords Gamecube next to the GBA Zelda. I thought it was a error but it appears now to have been someone jumping the gun.

packing a GBA SP with a GameCube is actually a great idea. the price will rise substantially, but tahts to be expected. too bad it wont happen though. then maybe id pick up a GC.
im pretty sure its a death-match type minigame.Quote:

Well, if the price is right... it may not be so bad.
This is one of the stupidest things I have ever seen.
And I've seen a lot of stupid shit.
I don't know what to think about this.
It could turn out to be a really cool idea, but right now I just don't see it.
Did you notice the picture-in-picture bit in the first part of the video? I am pretty sure it will function without GBAs connected. I mean it would cost like over $500 dollars for a cube 4 GBAs and the game. The only other consumer game with the sort of cost of ownership was Steel Battalion, and that sold.... well?
Ack! Nintendo, what are you thinking! Give those graphics some current-gen love! I'm all for hand drawn 2D, but geez, a straight port of SNES visuals to the GAMECUBE?! That's just....lazy. Where's high-res high-color less-tile-laiden?
nintendo must be in it for the money. We all know childish games with way sub par graphics sell like hotcakes
Anyone who makes fun of the Sega CD as an add-on should now be shot on sight. This has to be the worst gameplay scam ever.
The only good thing I see is that it will avoid the problems that four player Gauntlet had, because the whole party won't be held up by one character trying to go an opposite way on the screen.
Other than that, I don't think it'll be one for my household - only one GBA here.

great, now we'll have to find 3 strangers with GBA's to hook up.
Wow, that's a great idea... NOT!

you're better off looking in pawn shops, nintendo already blew their chance after the same game went out of print the first round...
