I've seen worse games come out, that absoultely no one would buy, so it's not even a factor of sales. I could see that being a point if the game wasn't getting translated or brought to the US or whatever, but it's the fact Sony actually didn't approve the game itself, when they approve a good deal of shit that just rots the shelf.Quote:

As for Ys, the game no doubt is going to be reserved to niche status if it gets a US release. So what? It's considered by some to be a classic and thus far has been limited to consoles with low userbases. A good word of could give the game modest sales, at least comparable to other titles out on PS2 like Dual Hearts, maybe even better these days with old franchises seeing light again. 2D or 3D is not the issue but the quality of the product, a great game is potentially being held back by it's form of presentation. *-neo

I think it's wrong for the hardware manufacturers to have a say on what games get "approved" for their platforms. That's too much power that can be mistranslated into the hardware company's favor.
Getting "concept approval" is just assinine. Let the developers make their own damn decisions what they choose to invest in and release. It's their dime and not Sony's/Microsoft's/Nintendo's (or whatever).
