Perhaps they can cater the console specifically to "hardcore" Sega fans, ie make it obvious what you will be geting with the console is a lot of Sega games, and not much else. And they can price it high enough to not sell it at a loss, hardcore Sega fans will buy it anyway.
You know, one of the arguements for getting a GC is it has Nintendo-brand games. You wouldn't buy one for much else. So if Sega tried adopting that kind of stance, all they do is draw people who like their games, but undercut everyone else. Not a good thing.
