The game was in development hell for quite a while. At least since Messiah came out.

If anyone ever played Messiah, you would agree with me when I say that the game had aton of potential but it also slipped into development hell, and came out as a half-baked-you-could-see-this-being-amazing-but-it-just-didnt-get-the-love game. Just like Enter the Matrix.

In fact, I dont think that EtM was really starting to come together until maybe eight or nine months ago. So really the game's not finished. Another six months, and it could've been awesome... oh well.

Just another decent movie game... I'm not suprised it sold well...

The Two Towers was still better than Enter the Matrix...

Smart of Microsoft to let Atari beat them out of Shiny and ETM....

Except i have played it if you read the official enter the matrix thread

and i spent quite a few hours with it almost finishing Ghosts run through the game and spent quite alot of time with the Hacking aspect which IMHO is the only thing fun about the game

I personally would have given the game a 4 out of 10

if you took the Matrix out of this game and left all the gameplay, graphics and everything else no one would give 2 shits about this game

And there's the problem with movie and comic book based games.

Developers don't realize people actually want a good GAME on top of the movie license, or maybe they just don't care since people will buy it just because it's tied into a movie.

but it had to ship in time for the movie and the movies hype so it would get sales like this and thus the game is not all that it could be

Two Towers IS the best movie game. IMO. Matrix isnt horrible or anything. It just needed some more time to cook.


Now, gimme some Return of the Kind co-op goodness. :D

Yup, you're right, those "few months in the oven" would translate to a loss in sales. I mean, even though WE know it's not worth it, every single person coming out of that theater who owns a system, is going to be like "holy crap that movie rocked, I bet the game is just as cool!!!".

Off they go to EB, Gamestop, Best Buy, whatever, where the employee will say "Yea it's awesome, it's based on the movie, did you like Matrix: Reloaded? You'll love this game!". John, you're probably the exception, but I went into EB this week and the guy tried to cram the game down EVERYONE's throats, including me.

When I told him I wasn't interrested and heard it was sub-par, he seemed quite shocked.

I always give people my honest opinion on games

and i have to be honest and tell them i just wasnt feeling ETM
