Breakdancing - the stuff being done now a days is some of the lamest shit i've ever seen. stuff that was being done in the 80's though...god, some of the most beautiful stuff i've ever seen. beautiful in the same way that martial arts is. if you get what im saying.

Videogames - obviously. working for Nintendo, Namco, or Technos would be a dream come true. yeah, i mean, they're videogames. im sure we all know how much we all love them here.

of course, i love movies and music as much as the next guy, but i wouldn't pick either of them over the 3 things i just listed.

Wanna write the rest of my report on current events in Indonesia for me? I've only got like a page left to do. :D

1. Wolves - I can't really explain it to be honest, but I always loved wolves... it's just something inside I feel and they are truly the most beautiful of god's creatures to me :D

2. Video Games - Something I've been doing since way back in the Atari days and still do today while I wish I had more free time to play more though now, Squaresoft is my favorite company ever since Final Fantasy IV and I always thought it would be cool to work for Squaresoft's marketing department :)

3. Artwork - While I myself am no artist even though sometimes I like to doodle, I love looking at art... different types, styles and subjects, I truly envy talented artists and thier skills when it comes to making beautiful art :)

Arkanoid - Jesus Christ, Arkanoid is seriously the best fucking game ever made. EVER.

Gyros - The best thing to come out of Greece since Nick.

Writing - It's what I'm good at, so I like doing it.

Rich, nah.

Videogames: Same as everybody else.
Writing: I'm NOT particularly good at it, but I love it nonetheless. (I love reading, too, but that's more of a problem - to my wallet, that is.)
Music: Anything. Any genre. Whether you're cutting up beats on a turntable or strumming on a guitar in a ski lodge, I love it.

Pissing people off, I love it.
Sadly it doesnt work that well with a high pitched voice sore from shouting all day.

Videogames: Especially Sega.
Music: Especially Electronica but I like just about all genres.
Japan: Going back this summer, love the place :)

Anyway...

Art - This is what I'm going to school for, what I've been doing since age 3, and what I want to do forever. Funny thing is I can do great in all my normal classes, but when it comes to art, I always feel second-string. Even weirder is I like it that way...it gives me the motivation to always improve.

Writing - The only thing non-art that I've been good at, or at least professors have told me. And I have fun writing too - I'm the only person in my family who can spend his boredom hours typing away on scripts that never get finished...or arguing on message boards. I even dreamt of getting to write for GameFan (of course).

Videogames - No brainer here. I used to be much much more passionate about games (read: fanatic) than I am now, but it's still my favorite hobby. I would love to get an art-based job in games...that would be the best.

Back in 93-94 I dreamt, like hardcore, about writing for EGM. To an extent, I still do. I know it's not totally true, but the editors always looked like they were having so much fun. The idea to affect tons of people with your words: beautiful.

Target shooting: sorta like my sport I guess. When you're in your groove it's very mind-no-mind, it's not simply a matter of pulling the trigger when the reticle is over the target, it's *FEELING* the shot fall over the center of the target, you know before you register it visually. *for the record I don't like actually killing things*

Philosophizery: Just thinking about things, human perception, existance, morality, whatever.

Music: Actually just started getting really into it in the last few weeks. I guess I really only have one major obsession at any given time, and I have to drop one before I start on my next.

But I know what you mean - I used to think GameFan was a place of smiles and games. The best place to work for ever. Then you see it go down, the 'dirty laundry' being aired out...it kind of takes away from my impression of writing for a game mag. I'm sure it is fun, but it's also work.

Martial arts- as my varuious thread hijacks indicate,i am obsessed with almost everything i can find out about the martial arts, i also train vigorosly in them,trying to find that next level of fighting competence.

Religion- May or may not be meshed with topic 1, but this includes conventional religion,and occult, and ancient mythology.

music/Tori Amos- i listen to a lot of music, and obsess over little details,particularly of said musician. Not stalker level, but definitly a fan with a fairly large knowlege base.

other side passions are, singing, weight lifting,jogging, women, comedy,and psychology.

I too am a fan of "urban exploration" old buildings are neat.

1. Japan! Not just for the games, but all that crazy shit you just don't see back Stateside. I like it there.

Music. While I wouldn't like to pursue a career in it, I wouldn't like to live without it either.

Videogames - something that I've loved since I was 4. It was around middle school that I started really examining the games I was playing and seeing what worked and what didn't, and now I want to get in the industry as an artist.

Artwork - Not just the work that I do, but just good art in general. I like nice paintings (cuz I can't paint for shit), and architecture. I just wish I would stop being lazy and draw more often.

Comic Books - c'mon, you know I was going to put this here. I've been reading for 18 years and i don't plan on stopping anytime soon. If only more people would give them a chance.

Music - Easily my greatest passion. I love all aspects of it, from listening, to composing, to performing. I play bass and plan on trying to make a living from it some day (and I can't emphasise "trying" enough). Also, I'm currently remixing the RE movie theme originally by Marilyn Manson, and its coming along quite nicely.

Movies - I really love watching movies, and I'd like nothing more than to make one. The major problem with this is that the ideas I think of would generally need a fairly big budget to be fully realised. I'm collaborating with some friends on a movie we want to make in which a Vampiric Mud Monster reaks havoc on a town, with the twist being that at the end, he pulls two pistols from his body (he's made from mud) and has a gunfight with the main character, or shoots him dead straight away (not sure yet). Should be able to make this one on budget :)

I have a strong belief that people should get a career in something that they'll love instead of a job that pays well, and as a result the only other career choice I've seriously considered apart from something musical is to be a phorensic detective, which is something that has interested me for a very long time, however, in high school I had to choose between music and biology, and I enjoyed music too much to give it up. In the future, I could always catch up on study and go into phorensics though.

Music: Listening to it, reading about it, writing it (though not anytime recently). Music can do anything for your mood. It can be the cause of down time or an up time and it can be the solution.

Observation: I'm tired of this, but I am still very passionate about it. I like watching people. Actually, I like observing people, hence the term observation, and yes when you start predicting people's moods and reactions you have to admit your passioniate about it.

Writing: I just recently started again. Writing is such an in general statement, but there really is so many things to just write about and so many ways to write it.

Videogames are a hobby, and a lifestyle, but my pure passion goes into these three things right now.

At the moment I'm freelancing at a Flemisch newspaper, but that isn't everything. I'd like to go abroad and become a correspondent for Belgium.

2. Politician
I love politics, but I just can't find myself in the system of political parties.

Art- I love to draw, paint, and also write and draw comics. I'm constantly on the look-out for new art supplies to experiment with. I also love character design, from games and movies, as well as doing it myself.

Exercise- this just isn't a point of vanity- I like being in shape and all the physical abilities it grants me. I'm a very active person, and I like being able to do what I want when I want to, like going on a 10 mile hike in the wilderness, scuba diving or learning a martial art (which I'm not currently doing, but I'd like to try it).

Being on the lookout for new things- I can't just sit and enjoy the same old things, places over and over. I get bored easily. I'm constantly looking for new hobbies, new books to read, new places to visit, new resturants, museums, artists, music, movies, etc. If you limit your interests, you limit yourself.

Movies- I love movies, especially Horror or Action, or weird, unusual movies that most average people wouldn't know.

Videogames- hey, it's my escape. :)

Girls- man, I love women. :D However, I have a very cool girlfriend, so I just look, and never touch. The other girls, I mean, not her! ;)

Man.. Fuck that gymnastics shit. If anything they got more creative with their footwork, but their top rock sucks now more than ever. Ken Swift lived through all the generations of BBoys starting in '78 and his flava is very recognizable. Probably the best all around bboy. He now teaches in NYC. Although in LA where Lucas is, they're much more into power moves and poppin' and locking. Here in the east we're less into power moves and more into doing it rough and dirty like the original bboys(not necessarily a good thing). There's less style and just a lot of repetitive macho moves.
BTW I'm going to a Jam on Thursday in Philly. If anyone is interested it is in the Rotunda on 35th and Walnut sts at 9pm. There's gonna be bboying, graffiti, dj-ing and mc-ing.

hah, Robots... those are pretty cool. I once made a prank call to a 24 hour plumbing repair joint (through Sprint Relay so an operator was saying what I typed.. it's for the deaf) and claimed that robots had broken in to my house and ate all the pipes and that my house was filling with water.

Word. I'd love to do comics, but I don't have the patience or time. Character design comes much more naturally than doing sequentials, and is also a lot easier IMO. And it's something that could applied to a lot of fields; comics, video games, animation, or movies. All of which I'm passionate about.

Passion? some how the passion just got left me this year for my clay. maybe it will return. meh.

comics (strips, web and comic books), movies (comedy, action and well hell anything really.), music (OUR LADY PEACE), anime, cartoons, stupid tv shows, reading, writing, video games (though I suck so much) andddd... sleeping.

Also, at the time, TNL didn't have the attach feature, and I had noone that could host my pics, so I just gave up on the idea. Now that we have the wonderful attach feature, maybe I'll try it...I'll sketch some stuff tonight, perhaps.

Cool. I have a story that I thought up back in high school that I've fleshed out over the years. I did about 10 or 11 pages of the first issue before I stopped. I wasn't happy with the quality of my art back then, and I've since been reading anatomy books and whatnot. I would've started again, but I started experimenting with a new style, and I want to get it down pat before I do sequential art.

That's very cool, Lordmrw. I actually have a story I'm attempting to draw as well. One piece of advice: get your character design down before you start anything. Sketch those character for hours from every angle you can think of. One thing you want to avoid changing the style of the way you draw your characters over the course of your story. It just looks bad. Doing quick thumbnail sketches of the panels you're going to draw helps overall too. Drawing the story should be the last thing you do, after the writing and designing stages. Good luck! :)

Weight lifting, reading/writing and gaming, in no particular order. I go through phases when I'm more into one them than the other two.

Well, I know I used to be embarrassed about showing my stuff off. Even when people said I did a good job with it. The way I think of it now is art is a way of expression that, no matter what someone says, you shouldn't hide just because it's so visual. Sure, you do work for yourself, but I love seeing other people's ideas that, how could it not be meant to be seen?

Hero, I saw a piece that you did while I was in Cali, and it was very good! I used to draw, but now I am just hella rusty. :(
