Sony appreciation thread

Good to see some fans of Sony as a developer. I expected a degree of trolling and ignorance but it's good to see they didn't ruin a decent thread.

Targent (Ore no Ryouri and Gacharoku) and Clap Hanz's games are Sony games as far as i'm concerned. Whether they are first or second party (I am unsure as to which) is irrelevent. If Sony fund the development and publishing then that's enough.

Give credit where it's due, Sony are a fantastic developer and publisher that support all sorts of interesting and original projects. For this they are unquestionably the best in the industry. I love the way the third parties can come up with the mass market games leaving SCEI to develop some interesting concepts.

oh, i forgot about Fantavision. that's a pretty fun game. nothing special though.

I think Philosoma made it here on shear graphic prowess. The game sucked otherwise. Sony seemed to be more interested in showing off graphics and putting gameplay in the back seat, on most occasions. Whatever sells to the masses.:(

I think he provided Flamebait, when he decided to diss the N64 hardware, with his statement about Ridge Racer. Still I can honestly say, that I found games like Hot Shots Golf, Parappa the Rappa and Um Lammer Jammy highly enjoyable Sony products.

I agree with Sidez. The PSX IS more capable than the N64. The N64, while it has some good games, was a steaming pile of turd.

I still can't understand why people would play Ratchet and Clank on purpose, or better yet pay for the privelige. That game couldn't be more average and boring if it tried.

Pa- sounds like Gacharoku is the shit huh? How does it stack up played as a one player game? Only games I can get people to play these days are Puzzle Bobble, Ore no Ryouri, and maybe Taiko no Tatsujin.

To be honest I have never played it solo. Even when playing the one player minigames there has been people around. If you have the multitap and controllers, people will play this game. It's stupidly charming and noone has failed to be wholeheartedly won over yet.

Sony themselves published more winners in the "32 bit era" than there are total number of good (I didn't say great because there's only about a half a dozen great ones) N64 games.

Please bear in mind that the above paragraph was typed by an actual Nintendo fan.

Sony can't produce games. That was true, but it ain't now IMO.

Sony as a publisher (are HAL ncl? Who cares) What does 'Sega' mean these days? Nothing. Stocks and shares, so. Treasure really made SFC Ganbare Goemon really didn't they, really.

A company is only as good as the people working for them and I get this sneaky feeling that the good people at ncl must of left them for Sony or that is how it feels which is of course wrong. They still have the most famous PR man though - Mr S. M.

After purchasing Ore, ICO, Parappa & Lammer, Mosquito, Mina No Golf 3, Gacharoku and Saru! Get You! 2 the love for Sony flows. I got more enjoyment out of the latter than Sunshine 100 times over and dare I say it? Saru! Get You! 2 is up there with Mario 64.

Saru! Get You! = Ape Escape right?

Btw, am I the only Mickey Mania fan around these parts?
