Hm, let's get a few things straightened out here:
First off, we (this being Bahn and myself) decided at E3 that we won't be covering PC games on the site, simply because there's too many games and not enough editors to cover both console and PC games. You probably noticed the huge bias towards console games on the site, with very few PC games being covered, if at all. This is why you don't see a "PC Game of the Show" award anywhere in the feature. Had such an award existed, I seriously doubt anyone would have picked something other than HL2.
Second of all, these picks were obviously personal choices. We didn't get together to discuss what game would get what award, it should be obvious since everyone picked their own games. As much as I was impressed with HL2 from the video I saw, I generally do not care for FPS games at all. On the other hand, I love my arcade racers, and I love F-Zero. Why wouldn't I name F-Zero my game of the show? Don't get me wrong, I respect what the first HL has done for the genre and what HL2 will probably do, but I'd take F-Zero GX over HL2 any day of the week.

The only reason I was doubtful is because I once read on Dave Zydkro's website that the IGN editors have a lot of rivalries - and that David Smith was fired mostly because people didn't like him. If the fight was between editors of any other publication (Gamespot, TNL, etc.) I would have known they were just screwing around.Quote:
