i cant believe someone that relishes in the campy garbage that is jason/freddy flicks says that kung pow sucked. it just doesnt make any sense.
i mean, cmon...this is the only other comedy in the last 2 or so years i've seen that i can quote on a daily basis(jay and silent bob strike back being the other) while at work.
an awesome step towards parodies, and actually making something worth a damn out of the god awful movie they based it off of(cmon...betty is the new agent smith. recognize)
Master Betty Rules :p
I can understand your confusion, but calling Jason flicks "campy garbage" is going too far! Those movies are ART! :)Quote:

Seriously, though, there's a difference between "campy" and "campy garbage". Some movies can be good at being bad and some movies, like Kung Pow, are just bad. There are some funny bits in Kung Pow but so many of the jokes fall flat that it's crazy. And, I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Toungey is the stupidest thing in any movie, ever.
Sorry, but Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is another movie that's a total piece of shit (in my opinion). At least Kung Pow made me laugh a few times. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is possibly the least funny movie ever. Hell, it was boring, but most Kevin Smith movies are.Quote:

I'll fully admit that they were creative in the sense that they took an old kung fu movie, digitally cleaned it up and inserted the main character into it. That was very innovative. I was just sorry to see it wasted on such a crap movie.Quote:

But I can't argue with you or Despair on one point: Betty rules. :)
Damn, D. I'm surprised that you didnt like Jay and Bob. I thought it was also hillarious, not as funny as Kung Pow but full of great quotes, and moments.
Whole Jedi battle with Mark Hammill was great :) But I like most of Smith films anyway.
Clerks and Chasing Amy were okay.
Well, Those I havent seen. I'm interested in seeing Clerks, since I like Animated Series alot, but not sure if Chasing Amy is that interesting to me.
