I understand that the genre has changed and it's less suited to your tastes but there is still some brilliant level design in the genre. Games like Red Faction are generic and don't represent the best the genre has to offer today.
It's more the styleof the level design. I don't care as much for the mission oriented stuff or the realistic level stuff. Like I said, I don't outrightly hate everything modern in the FPS genre. I still enjoy one from time to time, but I miss scavanging for secrets, and taking on swarms of drones.
