RPGs you've never finished...

Seems like I'm a big quitter, judging by my record...

Wild Arms - Once I got that "go anywhere" ship, I didn't know where to go, and I traded it for Bust-A-Groove. Seemed like a nice game, though.

Suikoden - The game just didn't do it for me. Ehh... I dunno. Sorry.

Final Fantasy V (Final Fantasy anthology) - I really wanted to like this one, but again, I felt I got that "go anywhere" dragon a bit too early, didn't know where to go, and gave up.

Final Fantasy IX - I didn't really want to play it, but my brother got it for some reason (he didn't really play it either). I never really liked it before, and I still don't like it now.


RPGs I have finished:

Final Fantasy IV (II on SNES)
Final Fantasy VI
Final Fantasy VII (the hype made it fun, believe it. The best one on PS1, though that isn't saying much)
Xenogears (seriously, seriously frustrating... and the story? :rolleyes: But the music was nice. Dunno why I stuck it through... and I still don't get it...)
Skies of Arcadia (well, I liked it)
Final Fantasy Tactics (I know, I know... but I wanted to add another to my list :sweat: )


I don't care for RPGs now, so I'm probably not going back to them anytime soon.

Fallout - Cool game but the time limit in the beggining frustrates me.

Grandia 2 - Save file got erased and I don't want to play through it again.

Vagrant Story - Weapons system is too confusing for me.

The only game with "final fantasy" in the title that i have completed is Mystic Quest. Let me tell ya, it was an intense experience, and i wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

Dragon Warrior VII - after logging 100+ hours I just couldn't take it anymore and decided to abandon the thing.

No regrets.

Xenogears because zzZzzZZ....


FF origins. Seems cool, just got other games to play.

Same here. Well, closer to 95 hours.

I'm kinda surprised, though, since you were all about it in ye olde DWVII thread. Didn't figure you'd stop 'til it was over.

Sakura Taisen 3. I just gave up.

Final Fantasy V. I just didn't care anymore.

Star Ocean: The Second Story. Ditto.

Thousand Arms. I have no idea.

Theres a shitload more... those are just the ones I can think of right now.

Considering I've been an RPG nut for almost 15 years now, FAR too many to name them all, but I'll give some:

Plan on finishing some day:

Lufia 2: Was about 1/4 the way through it when the cartridge got torched when my house got burned down in '97. Not long after I started going through it again, was detoured by the first wave of quality PSX RPGs in Wild Arms, Suikoden, and FF7. Never got back into it, and now, playing Ruins of Lore, I really would like to more than ever.

Arc the Lad Collection: I never would've figured there would be such a thing as too much strat/RPG gaming in one package, but, man, does this ever personify it. Will get back to plugging away at it one of these days.

Dragon Warrior 7: Yes, I've heard the horror stories, but...it's still DW, and I owe this and Phantasy Star more than anything for getting me started on RPGs in the first place.

Fallout 1 & 2: Deep and open-ended, and really want to run through them some day. Just can't seem to find the time.


And that's just scratching the surface, many, many more I could list.

And among ones I will NEVER finish...


Final Fantasy VIII: For obvious reasons. Worst $50 I ever spent, with Stretch Panic coming in at #2. Yes, I still think it was THAT bad to this day.

7th Saga: Even if I booted it up with the Action Replay and loaded up on enough cheats to breeze through it, it still wouldn't be worth the time.

FF6- Got bored of the story.

Thousand Arms- Battle system sucked.

FF9, Suikoden- Couldn't get into it.

Vanguard Bandits- Spoiled by FF Tactics.

Lunar 2- Couldn't enjoy it as much as the first.

There are tons that I stopped playing from boredom.

One I stopped playing that I was enjoying was Chrono Cross. I got stuck somewhere and couldn't figure out where to go.
