So in my usual fashion I've heard about something and now desperately require obtaining it. Now up is the (apparently) Japanese-only DVD "Versus." Both Poker Industries and Yes Asia seem to be out of stock, and thanks to the commonplace word used as a title search engines aren't much help. So if anyone can offer any help in getting me this... I'll love you forever.

I found one on eBay that I'm bidding on, maybe I'll get that one.
Next up: Poker is out of Returner, but says that the Region 3 DVD is actually mislabelled and is really all-region. Yes Asia has it in stock but says nothing about that. Can anyone confirm/deny this?
Mech, There is Region 1 special edion of Versus coming out next month, that very worth looking forward too.
As for Returner Region 3 dvd, get it from YesAsia, since they have it for the lower price than Poker. From what I read, its a decent dvd, especially for HK release.
Here's the one I'm currently bidding on, which doesn't seem too shabby. Mayhaps I'll get the improved one as well much later if it's that good.Quote:

Just got it and watched it.
WOW. That was insane, in most every form of the word. I just can't get over how absolutely sweet that was, even though I wasn't big fan of running through a jungle for an hour and a half and I thought a few of those fights could've been better. All in all it was well worth it and I am damn happy I got this movie. Huzzah.
I also really enjoyed the movie. Does anyone know if they are making a sequel?
No, but the director is doing some samurai movie, I think. Despair put up a thread about it.

Actually there is Versus sequel planned, but it still some time before they can actually start, since Ruhei Kitamura is busy with his Twin Snakes project, plus he will be RE-SHooting original Versus with bigger budged to be released as Versus 1.5 later this year.
His most recent film - samurai hyper action film Azumi was premiered in Japanese theaters past May, and hopefully will be hitting dvd in a couple of month, or this Fall at the latest. From some comments I read about it it sound pretty in style of Versus with lots of action and bloody swordfights. Hopefully dvd will have English subs, but even if not, it wont stop me from checking it out(I did watched Miike Itchi the Killer and Dead or Alive: Final in Japanese :p).
Mech, I'm glad that you liked Versus. Its a pretty kick ass flick, and while it has some flaws, and IS slow in some parts, they did an amazing job considering low budged they had to work with.
I will be picking up R1 Special Ed set that is coming out next month, to replace my original dvd release(the infamous German legal bootleg dvd :p, that my friend had borrowed like 6 months ago and still havent returned.)
