You can get a DVD player at Wacky Wally's for arround $50. Though it'll be a crappy one it still plays discs...well most of the time anyhow. :)

Obviously you don't. In any case, if we're talking about Best Buy pricing and products, I would be more inclined to take my word for it over someone who only had 3 months left to see 6 months ago.
