It's a comedy? I rented this cause it said something like the new Resievoir dogs. I thought Bana was ok, but the movie seemed slow at times. I only remember when he whipped his dick out in the bar, or something like that.Quote:

Its a shame that this movie is as apparently bad as it is. Eric Bana is one hell of an actor.
I highly reccomend a movie called "Chopper", in which he plays the nationally famous criminal Mark "Chopper" Read. Its excellently written and directed, and Erics performance (and transformation) is truly remarkable.

Its a black Comedy, which is really funny until you realise that its based on a real person (and Eric gets it so spot on that its spooky).
It deals with the level of strength in proportion to the body, which the Hulk has far more of then Spiderman.Quote:

But then, I've also worked with ex-football players (back when I worked at a bar) and those guys would sometimes juke and the such when messing around. Just because someone's big doesn't mean they don't have speed, those guys moved over twice as fast as I could and they were easily twice as big as me. I can be pretty damn fast when I need to, but those guys put me to shame.
I would give the movie a solid B. The first 45 minutes or so really shouldn't have been as boring as they were, but once he Hulked out my interest level jumped. I take back what I said about the CG work; the amount of small details they paid attention to were incredible, and my only complaint is the neon green color of the Hulk. As far as powers go, it was accurate down to a tee, aside from the Hulk getting bigger as he got madder. I don't like the fact that his father is the Absorbing Man, but I knew they would pull something like that. It still worlds better than Daredevil.
You must be kidding. DD was WAY better than Hulk. But I guess for each its own. Whoever said that Nick Nolte's acting was good must be joking. His rants were getting more ridiculos each time he was in a fit, and drama overload hurt the film. They should have either had it as a full blown drama or comic book action adaptation, since there was too much of one, and NOT ENOUGH of other.

Biggest June opener, despite some rather medicore reviews, wether it last remains to be seen. Still it's gonna have to make alot more $ just to break even.
I personally enjoyed this movie much more than Daredevil and would put it just behind X2 when rating this year's Marvel movies.
True, the movie was a little slower than DD and X2, but the brilliant cinematography and excellent acting (worlds above the other two Marvel movies this year) make up for it.
Thumbs up.
All I expected from The Hulk was a comic book movie, and it turned out to be a comic book movie. Well-done, considering how difficult the source material was to convert into a single motion picture.
Some people take these things too seriously...
I just came from seeing it and despite some things, I liked it alot.
The story while altered from the comics was told ok but it got a little messy since it relied on flashbacks a bit much. It was also slower starting than I expected but once Hulk busted out I was happy as hell.
The Hulk was 100% accurate with the comics and the CG looked great. He moves exactly as he should for such a big dude. I loved his gigantic leaping ability and Hulk's carefree look when he was in the air. And no Despair I didn't even see a hint of him flying. Whats odd is that I found the CG Hulk to be more charismatic than the real life actors.
As far as action scenes go, they are terrific. The Hulk vs Gamma enhanced dogs were brutal, the Hulk vs military scenes were big and fantastic, and the last fight while taking a more power battle approach, was cool. Its just what these summer movies need and this one had awesome stuff, I definitely got bang for my buck in this area.
The cinematography was great. I liked the sliding panels and it looked like a moving comic book.
The actors handled their parts well enough like the Glen Talbot character was a guy you'd love to hate and the actor did just that. General Ross portrayed by Sam Elliot captures the concerned military man perfectly without going too over the top and obssesive like the comic character has.
While Eric Bana and Jennifer Connely played their parts respectfully they didn't seem that intimate. There were only some hints of intimacy in their relationship in the photo taking scene and the post Hulk transformations.
I wish Eric was more geeky with glasses to add to the scientist look as well as performing more experiments in the lab to show his drive for all things scientific. Nonetheless in his enraged moments he showed anger and contraint and his portrayal of Banner was not that far off from the tv series so I wasn't disappointed.
Betty I'd say the same in terms of acting out the character. She didn't emote a whole lot but functionally she played Bruce/Hulk's only calm element/anchor as well as being the only person he could trust in his world.
I wasn't too crazy on giving David Banner Absorbing Man's abilities. While it was cool that you see a bit of Zakkt and Aborbing man(especially the really cool way it was pulled off with his hand and the electricity) in this character, it was a bit much and I would have saved the mimicked characters for another movie.
I would have also preferred that the military remained the main antagonist as well as seeing his father offed in a more normal way. David's rants were a bit odd too but Nick did a good job though given what he was able to work with and I did enjoy the whole last sequence.
His more dangerous form certainly showed that Hulk couldn't exactly pound this guy into oblivion like everything else. The special effects in that area were top notch. He was creepy, mysterious and presented the psychological threat to Bruce.
Oh and the Stan Lee and Lou Ferrigno cameos they were awesome :D
The musical score was really good and it had more of a theme than the other marvel comic movies. It was elegant yet not overbearing, suiting the mood perfectly.
All in all I give the movie a 8/10. As far as comic movies go compared to the others, it holds its own well enough. Hulk isn't your basic do-gooder superhero and that makes him unique as a marvel hero.
I liked Daredevil more, but this film isn't as bad as you negative reviewers say it is since there are much worse comic book movies than this to compare to. To see this many people dislike it is disheartening to me but hey whatever. I'm definitely watching it again.
Almost everything the Hulk does i.e. running super fast, jumping for miles , etc. has been done in the comics. But most of it was done in the early days when Stan Lee was writing them which is what the movie is mostly based on.
