there are online comics to cater for everyone, with a broad range of genres, from philosophically deep drama to pornographic random nonsense. there are literally thousands upon thousands of them, so the chances are that some great and fantastic comics aren't getting half the recognition they deserve. This thread is for appreciating the lesser known comics out there. feel free to post your favorites along with odd strips that you might come across every now and then.


Firstly, I have to give props to Kidnemo's comic, Comet7. its one of the only online comics that I regularly read.

Its short and often nonsensical strips have a very leftfield sense of humour, which some people tend to hate, but I for one love. The pixel art is fantastic, and flows really well.



another comic which has a similar sense of humour is white ninja comics.

its stylishly bad art and lack of color give this comic a unique tone.


admittedly, this next comic is fairly well known, but it deserves any attention it gets. Sexy Losers is an icredibly funny adult comic.

This next comic I've only recently stumbled across, but its probably the most artistically unique comic I've seen. its called Zxipi, and it kicks arse. Because of the way the comic is presented, I can't directly link to a strip.

as you can see, there isn't many strips there, but the art is amazing, and shows promise of what could become the next big online comic.

another favorite of mine is boy on a stick and slither. its slightly absurd, and its art style almost looks like its done in flash.

Nice thread. Personally, I still have to say I like Penny Arcade the best as far as webcomics. People like to bash them a lot, but I think they're very good myself. I also like Comet7 and White Ninja too. Many times their stripes' humor is lost on me, but many times I find them funny as well, and I love both of their art styles. Starting my own webcomic has actually been a dream of mine for about a year or so, and I'm getting closer and closer :)

PA is great, but its pretty much the same stuff all the time. I got sick of reading a comic about sarcastic jaded gamers, I get enough of them here :P

I love Comet 7. Kid's snece of humor is remarkably dry and off the wall...much like my own!

Penny Arcade is good too, but the king of all web-toons (sencond to Comet 7, of course) is Angst Technology.

I'm a pretty vanilla online comic reader, primarily because if I chased down everything I'd like online I'd spend 8-10 hours a day reading online. Between the standards of Sluggy Freelance ( http://www.sluggy.com ), Penny arcade, and a favorite obscure one called Freefall ( http://freefall.purrsia.com/ ), I've pretty well got my online comic thing covered. Not that I'm sure another one or two coudln't sneak in...
