"It's dead now, as is every other system that's had a Final Fantasy game on it."
ummmm what?
oh yeah and thanks for the DIRECT link mister admin :P
...that wasn't me. it was the Black Mage's doing!!! (honest)
Cool review. It's unique and gives all the necessary info.
I agree with AFX that the games haven't aged well and are best suited for a nostalgia-fix only. I don't fault Final Fantasy for this at all. The entire genre hasn't aged well. I'm still looking forward to the Phantasy Star remake though since it's one of the few 8-bit RPGs I can see myself playing all the way through again.
I'd say the reveiw was pretty accurate and well written.
I tried to play my NES version of Final Fantasy last year and had a hard time getting into it. I played about 2 hours and had to ask myself, what was so great about this game? The same with Final Fantasy II (US).
I'll still pick up origins, for nostalgic playtime, but I feel that I'd be hard pressed to finish either of the games provided.
I've quoted this for Jeremy's reference.Quote:

I like some good old fashioned level building, it sooths the soul. The remake has some damn good music too!
I still enjoy FF1, I sure as shit don't know why... because its horrible.
Ninjas, I've seen reviews in this same style before, so the unique-ness of it isn't quite as apparant to me. Still, a fun review to read through.
Looks accurate to me. FF1&2 are a C-, and VII is a D.
