The official "I'm going on vacation/jail/on the lam from the cops" thread

Just thought I'd make a thread where people can post if they're going away for a little while, just in case anyone gives a damn.

Me? I'm going on vacation on Sunday- I'm taking a 7 day cruise in the Eastern Caribbean (St. Thomas, St. Martin, etc) with my girlfriend. We're leaving out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, which means I have to get up at friggin' 4:30 in the morning to make my 7:30 AM flight (I live in NY). Going to do some scuba diving while I'm down there, some moutain biking, and much drinking. Anyway, I'll be back on Sunday the 29th. I'll probably post here tomorrow but then I'll be off for a week. Take care everyone, and I'll see ya when I get back.

*EDIT* Well, I've just been informed by my girlfriend that our flight is in fact at 7AM, not 7:30, and the van that's picking us up from her house to take us to the airport is going to be there at 4AM, not 5:30 (because they have to pick up other people as well). Thus, I have now have to get up at 3AM. Ugh.

Good luck man, have a great time in the sun. I wish I could do that, but I'm stuck working, and have to continue my endless struggle with house remodeling. I will be spending some time in the sun this summer, but it wont ba a cruise, but House Painting :p

The only thing is I'm not too crazy about flying. But it's not a big deal, it's only a three hour flight. I'll just keep the GBA handy...I plan on teaching my gf how to play Advance Wars so we can get a vs. game going. :)

3 hours flight aint that bad. I usually dont mind flying but I hate take off/ and landing moments, with the pressure building in your ears and such. I used to get motion/flight sickness in planes when I was kid, but overgrown it in later years. GBA comes very handy in such moments of life, and with AW2 coming out in few days, it shall keep you occupied :p

That's the problem, I won't be here when AW2 comes out. Unless there's a place on St. Martin that sells games I'll have to wait until I get back to get it. :(

Oh shit, I kind missed that you leaving on Sunday, and AW2 comes on Monday. That sucks.

I'd love to take a break away from everything and just go, the timing is right actually because I have no school at the moment, unfortunately finances are a problem at the moment and taking time off from work would be detrimental. One day...
