Seriously, what's up with the interface components as per the Famitsu scans? Opinion of character design aside, everything on the screen that's not part of the racing (the portraits, the font for the race times) looks completely asstastic.
Are there any in-game shots of the arcade game yet? I'd hope it would look different from that...
from what I played, the fonts, positions, lap times, etc. were the same in the arcade. Just no portraits.
And yeah, given the 'future'-y feel that is F-Zero, the gui really doesn't fit. If it was used in a new Rock n Roll Racing though...

That position display sidebar does look a bit obstructive. The 6 portraits should be in the upper left corner in 2 rows of 3 rather than the way it is now. I'd like to see some Power Drift style animations when a driver goes up or down a spot.
