Any opinions on it? It's one of the few DC games I'm still interested in tracking down but have heard mixed reviews. Thanks! *-neo

I like it, it is not as good as Virtua Cop 2 (not really much in terms of branching path and all), but still worth playing once or twice.
Eh. My buddy has it, paid $5 for it. I think that's okay at that price, but in my opinion it's a wholey un-remarkable game.
I wouldn't turn down a free copy of it, I'd play it again, but I wouldn't track it down.
I thought the game was just OK. But then again, this is coming from someone who only played it with a DC controller. The lack of light gun support(and the lack of an offical light gun in the US) pretty much killed this title for me. Though, it didn't seem like it would be too much fun, even with a light gun. It does have it's moments though, I loved having to plug the vents with a goo gun to stop poison gas from leaking in and it was pretty cool shooting a grappling hook so you can swing across an open courtyard. I also liked the part on top of the train where you bend over and shoot people inside the train while leaning over the edge.
It's a good lightgun game that can be had on the cheap.
Played it a fair bit in the Arcade, fun game, nice visuals but gets hard quickly.
I'd rather play Death Crimson 2. Seriously.
No way is it worse than Death Crimson. There are more than 3 enemies!
It's good (not great) and can indeed be had cheap. Its greatest fault is that it's just too darn short (4 stages).
How cheap are you guys talking? I haven't seen a used copy go for under $20, and with that said I don't run across it to often either.
I got mine new for $10 at GS about a year ago.
Pick it up cheap and you've got a winner. Most of the slowdown from the arcade version has been removed. It's a shame Sega didn't bother (or didn't have the balls?) to release a Dreamcast gun in the States.
I'd like to see CM get a second chance on PS2 with GunCon 2 support and the $20 price tag of the US DC version.
Whatever. It's a solid gun game (better than the most of the crap on the PS/PS2) with some really interesting twists to break up the monotony. A lot of fun provided you play it with a Euro/JP official Dreamcast gun. I spent $40 on the Euro import and can't say I've regretted it one bit. And don't touch that crap VC2 on the DC - it's a brutal port of the brutal PC edition running on Windows CE.
The arcade version seemed like a lesser Virtua Cop but still fun. I never bothered getting the DC version.
It's short, it's fun, but nothing really great. Considering the dearth of lightgun games on DC this was a game I had to get.
BTW I don't see why you need a official Sega lightgun when you can buy a 3rd party gun. Madcatz makes a pretty cool DC lightgun.
This is pretty accurate. Confidential Mission does have some of the gimmicks that first appear in The Lost World, like branching levels, and stuff. Speaking of which, I'm still pissed we never got a port of the Lost World, easily one of the best light gun games ever.Quote:

I really like the arcade game, although its a bit short.
The lack of a reliable DC lightgun makes tough to enjoy, though.
I was upset myself that JP:TLW as well as L.A. Machine Guns were no-shows on Dreamcast. Sega had a rich mine of Model 3 goodness that they were sitting on, but they didn't bother to tap it. This goes against the "Smoke 'em if you got 'em" logic. The Model 3 ports that did come out were not all they could've been- Sega Rally 2 was hampered by WinCE and Virtua Fighter 3 needed just a little more time.Quote:

If only there were a firm US release date for Virtua Cop 1 & 2 on the PS2. I've heard a rumor of an 8/15 release date but SoA doesn't list it on their site.
The MadCatz guns were good. I have a pair, and they never gave me trouble. They were good enough for me to finish all the House of the Dead training, as well as all the Confidential Mission training with. If you've tried to get through them all, you'd know the guns are pretty good.
I love Confidential Mission, but I'm a sucker for gun games. It's kind of short, but fun, campy, and over the top.
And yes, yes, yes, I'm also pissed we never got the Lost World on the DC. If I had to pick between the two arcade games (CM and LW), I'd get Lost World in a heartbeat. Bastards.
Good lightgun game. There's nothing really new gameplay wise, though chainshooting enemies for massive hits was neat. The last boss also had a neat gimmick look. Not a bad game by any means, and definately worth your time if you want a random fun lightgun game.
Word. I didn't care too much about the game, but the last boss looked cool as hell in a retro-futuristic kind of way.Quote:

He cracked me up. All those little TV-looking things were hilarious.
"So what are you doing for your vacation?"
"That's a... confidential mission."
The blooper reel at the end is good, too.
I enjoyed this game as well. We played it with our MadKatz gun, and it was just fine. While not the greatest gun game ever, it still over some fun shooting and much better than Death Crimson 2. Ammadeau must be crazy :p
The game is fun especially with two player. The training modes are great too (has that police trainer feel to it). I, too, own a MadCatz gun and it is the best third party one that I've tried though the trigger is kinda "loose" feeling. The game is challenging--you should definitely check it out.
