The Night From Hell ...

Welcome to tornado alley, kids.

Or Tornado Warning Alley.

Nasty storms have been pushing through the state all night, washing central Minnesota in tornado warnings. McLeod and Renville counties have been under warnings all night. Buffalo Lake has been hit by a tornado, possibly F3-F4 in size, and Hutchinson may have been hit as well.

The Buffalo Lake tornado apparently hit downtown. No fatalities reported, but injuries have been sustained. Buildings have been toppled, as well as some trees. The city is currently closed off to anyone but law enforcement/emergency crews.

Storms will continue through the night, pushing up from Nebraska/South Dakota, fueling themselves on the hot pockets of air in Iowa.



I hate this weather.

Which makes me happy I live in a place where the only things to worry about are blizzards, SARS, and drive-by insults.

Drive-by insults are a bitch (serious). Carry an air-horn - that's what I do (Serious)!

One time some guy told me to watch my fish. I was confused because I was carrying bison, and then he threw a fish at me but missed and it went in to the open door of a store behind me. We both laughed and continued briskly on our way, as the store owner seemed to notice.


... That didn't really happen but it would of been cool... damn... now I'm sad that it didn't happen.

Maybe that story or my idiocy will cheer you up. I wouldn't be posting to the internet amidst an F5 tornado man, you have some guts.

I always wondered what would happen is you had a very large vacuum and could suck the tornado in, ruining its vortex and consequently discontinuing it? Hmm...

....uh, anyway, good luck Jimmy. Hope those storms stay clear of you - I can't imagine what kind of damage those things could do.

tornadoes, that sucks,luckily in the mountains we dont see many, but we do get rather nasty floods in j-town we are kind of known for them.

This reminds me of a post I did last year where flood waters were just a few feet from my house. Weather sucks, is all I can say.

I was just swimming on Boone Ave. between Bass Lake Rd. and 49th in New Hope. A friend of mine decided to try and drive through a waist deep stretch of water that was a few blocks long. His car is now halfway under water.
