I hear ya man, i get canker sores ALL the time, sometimes i get 3-4 cankers at the same time1 :( unfortunately there is no cure for it, BUT if you got CVS, you can ge this oinment like thing in the dental department called "Kanka+", it's a small bottle with this thick liquid in it, it acts as an anesthetic, it makes the pain go away and at the same time cure the canker sore. I use it all the time and it makes living more more manageble! :)Quote:

So I have this highly annoying canker sore (aka mouth ulcer) on the inside of my top lip, and it hurts whenever I eat or move my lip. Supposedly they're caused by stress and/or diet, both of which are prime suspects at this time.
If you've never had one, imagine that the inside of your lip or gum had acid appear beneath the upper layer of skin and it dissolves its way out. Now you have a nice open wound in your mouth. You're then sensitive to any sort of acidic foods (ie citrus, tomatoes, vinegar), salt, or spicy foods. Then imagine it lasts for a week plus.

Anyone else here know what I'm talking about? Just had to share with someone, the wife's asleep.
Wow, I've never heard of half of those ointments, but I guess I'll go look for some of them. Thanks.

washing your mouth out with salt water makes them hurt less for some reason
It probably sanitizes your mouth. I've gotten them before, and just used numbing stuff to help dull the pain while then washing my mouth out a few billion times. Tends to help get rid of them within a couple days.
I have two gaping dry socket holes where teeth used to be, does that count?
