I play the trumpet every day in the school Wind Ensemble.

I've tried applying salt directly to canker sores, and that does work. Swishing some creme de menthe around it is another thing I've found helpful- the alcohol probably plays a large part in that.

Very true. It hurts even to think about a hot soup burn.

try gargling with Baking Soda and water, or just dabbing a damp finger into some baking soda and sticking it right on the sore. it will sting like a bitch, but the pain will go away and the healing shall begin.
