Good luck with your move man, where are you moving to?
Hell.
Yes?
Maryland I hope.
Hell yeah... move to Crofton. We can go out, and cause trouble.
Or at least play a lot of video games.
Especially if you move into a 2 story house/apartment - I almost crushed my friend moving one of my entertainment centers upstairs for my gameroom.Got it all the way to the top and since it had a flat bottom it started to slide down the stairs.I think when I move out of this place - I'll just toss shit out my upstairs bedroom window seeing as its quicker and safer -- unless someones chillin down below <flashes back to Happy Gilmore scene with Adam knocking over AC on old lady -- "Mister,Mister">:sneak:
We threw everything out the 2nd and 3rd story windows when we moved out of the Baltimore house yesterday.
It ruled. :)
 No old ladys down below I hope?Quote:

I remember when my uncle moved and we had to get his huge ass TV up a narrow flight of steps. It took what seemed like an eternity and a waste considering he moved out about 4 months later.
My most recent run in with moving that I have hated was when my friend moved and he put the six Bubblegum Crisis 2040 DVDs that I lent him in storage. There is still a big fucking gap on my DVD rack for where they should be.
Tell me about it.
I had to haul all of my earthly possessions out of my apartment in about four hours, and then unloaded the U-Haul the next morning in half that time.
By the end I actually passed out in the car from heat exhaustion.
Nope... but I almost killed my friend Chris with a coat rack.Quote:

moving does suck hella lot, especially when you have to actually clean the place up in an apartment complex - I've been there.
...eating pizza on a cardboard box? yuck.... who knows what kinda dust you're getting on your pizza from that box, why not just eat it straight from the pizza box?
Good luck with the move, burg, I may be doing one too before long. Fun fun... http://www.n00b.nl/wallwhacker/smilies/twitch.gif
I just threw out the nicest little gaming e-center. No room for it. :(Quote:

No worries about the cardboard box, I'm sure it's fine overall, it's the putty knife that's probably going to kill him in the end. Who knows what toxins that things been used to spread?
I just moved into this apartment last month, thankfully over the course of a few days. Got everything I owned out of storage and now I've got boxes everywhere. I've unpacked the PC, built the computer desk (had to replace my old one, it got trashed), set up the gaming center, and got my bed and dresser in place. Why on earth do I need to unpack the rest of this stuff? :)
Good luck on getting your new place up to speed. The moving gets done quick but turning the new place into a place to live can take forever.

Because I baked the pizza myself.Quote:

The cardboard box came from a hospital.Quote:

What I want to know is why it has to be hot as hell every time I'm moving. Every time.
Stop moving in the summer.
I'm sort of moving right now - I'm leaving tomorrow for Los Angeles, got a job there. I'm only bringing a backpack and a duffel bag with me, and I'm going to be sleeping on a friend's couch for the next few months, though, so it's hard to think of it as a real move.
Hopefully I'll have everything together so I can get a car on Tuesday. Registering a car is damn expensive in California, it seems like. However, it's incredible how much nicer insurance rates are there than they are in Connecticut.
I'm starting to really enjoy the idea of moving across the country with so few possessions. I'm bringing clothing, about 7 or 8 important books, and that's about it.
Good luck on the moves to all you guys - Be sure and keep extra batteries on hand for the GBA's and keep the SP's charged and ready to go. :)
I just helped my dad move to his house closer in to Baltimore and it was a pain in the ass. We had to take apart this masive work out machine and store in a friends garage, then to only find out later that we had to haul it up 2 flights of stair and put it back together. Not to mention it being humid and hot. I doubt I'm the only person to think this but moving sucks.
I just sold all my GBAs.Quote:

Good luck with everything burg. :)
When I moved to Canada I packed nearly everything I owned into the trunk and backseat of my car, drove up, and stayed at a hostel (then a cheap hotel, the hostel was disgusting) until I could find a place to live. It took about 10 days. Now that was stressful and that sucked. :p
Ha, Movig SUCKS. Last time I had to do that, I was pretty much dead the next day. Next time I have to move, I'm hiring help. No way I'm carrying all the shit I aquired since the last move just by myself !!
And Burg, good luck with you move :p
Good luck, dude.
...I just called you "dude." :)
Stone's REALLY doing the up-and-go move. Deciding and making plans to go from Connecticut to California within three days. I think that overall that this spontaneous decision (made with a clear head) is awesome. Especially if you're coming here with a "I see what I want, and I'm coming to get it," attitude. I hope that all goes well, Stone-man, no jet-lag but especially with the car!! See ya soon :).
I hate helping friends move and then it comes to down to who is really brave enough to grab the pissy, cum stained mattress. And why does everyone move to the third floor, causing what should have been a 2 or 3 hour move to last 6-8 hours because of narrow hallways?
I just moved for what I hope will be the last time. I bought a house last month and moved everything in under 5 hours. I never knew we had so much shit. I ended up giving away:
- a refrigerator
- my old bed
- a desk
- two wardrobes
- a tv stand
- a microwave table
I just helped someone move today. Didn't take us that long because he barely had a roomfull of stuff.
Ironically, the only truck available in the area for rent was a 26-ft. monster that liked to slip out of gear every now and then.
Took us barely an hour, if that.
I'm gonna move in a few months. My lease is up at the end of September, and Korly and I both hate our apartment. It's small, we have to walk outside to do laundry, the people who work here suck, and the place is really old so everything breaks all the time. Assuming everything works out right I'm gonna stay with Korly again cuz he's a good roomate (can't beat having another gamer in the house all the time) and I know quite a few friends that are ready to move. Hopefully we can find a big house to rent. That would be awesome because everyone would have plenty of space. Having a house also means more work, but it would be worth it to me.
