I was reading an article in the newest 'Blessed' about colorblindness relating to games. The writer is colorblind and was describing how he can't play certain games because of the color indicators. Mad Maestro and Puzzle Fighter were cited along with quite a few other games that were very difficult for him, and others, to play. The article went on to talk of how developers could try to fix some of these problems by using symbols in the colors (IE Bust A Move). Obviously some games a colorblind gamer would just be shit out of luck in enjoying, but I think it raises a valid concern among the gaming community.
20% (1 in 5) of the male population is affected by colorblindness. 1 in 100 females are as well. That 20% makes up quite a chunk of gamers I would assume.
Anyway, it's something I never thought about and thought we might be able to discuss a bit...
