I do wish they had changed the boost system back to the original game. It still doesnt seem right boosting all the damn time.
The boost system is great. it worked well in X and I'm glad they kept it for GX.
I'm impressed with the replay value this game has. they only way they could have topped it was to include the track editor from the DD, but i don't think that would have worked with this game's engine.

Yeah, besides being hard, one guy says they didn't change enough, but games like Vice City still gets a straight 10, and Madden always scores high for being the same damn game year after year. At least it's been 5 years since we've played F-Zero. Then the other guy's complaint was even worse. He was frustrated that the last race of each cup was so much harder, and gasp....you don't get unlimted continues so you might have to start over. I picked up the game this morning. It's good. It has exceeded my expectations so far. The story mode has been really good so far. It's fun to play through. The game is definately challenging though, at least for me. But it's a blast to play.
I dont really like that every race seems to be neck and neck for a 1st place finish. Were are the ass whuppins? Most of my races seem to come down to the last lap with me boosting a few times to take a 1st place win. Except on the harder settings, then I just lose. :D

Played through and finished the Novice "Ruby" cup (Numbah 1 place!), liking it quite a bit so far.
I didn't think I'd like the new boost system, but it seems really sweet. It appears to add a lot more strategy concerning boosting/conserving life.
