ESP has said they are going to release Hajime No Ippo: Victorious Boxers 2 for PlayStation 2 in Japan in the winter. The first Victorious Boxers was not only the best boxing game ever, but one of the best games ever. This and the Berserk sequel better come to the U.S. or heads will roll.

Shiva, perhaps you can answer this for me. The original Hajime no Ippo had three names on it: Kodansha (huge publishing conglomerate in Japan), Entertainment Software Publishing, and New. It has always been my belief that New developed Victorious Boxers, but when the game was rereleased in Japan as Greatest Hits-type budget title with the moniker Hajime no Ippo: Victorious Boxers CHAMPION VERSION, New's name was nowhere to be seen on promo flyers. I have not played Champion Version. Is New the developer of Hajime no Ippo or what?
This is great news and I hope the same development team is on the sequel. The American audience had their chance to bring this game stateside by buying VB, which no one did. NTSC-J exclusive, baby!

count me excited. this is the most under-rated game of the current generation IMO.
New is the developer of the game. However they don't own the rights to the game, so no one's obligated to put their name on the box. They also developed Knockout Kings 2003.Quote:
