New hosts for The Man Show...

NEW YORK, February 20, 2003 -- COMEDY CENTRAL and Stone Stanley Entertainment have signed an agreement with "Fear Factor's" Joe Rogan and comedian Doug Stanhope to host the fifth season of "The Man Show," it was announced today by Lauren Corrao, senior vice president original programming & head of development for COMEDY CENTRAL and Stone Stanley Entertainment partners, David G. Stanley and Scott A. Stone. Production on the 22-episode commitment will begin taping this summer with a third quarter 2003 airdate.
"Joe Rogan is a perfect fit to take over the reins of 'The Man Show,' as he's truly one of the guys," says Corrao. "And for those who may be unfamiliar Doug Stanhope, they're going to find out what our viewers already know - he's brutally honest, outrageously opinionated and one of the funniest comedians working today. Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carolla, along with Stone Stanley Entertainment, created such a recognizable franchise with this show, that we look forward to Joe and Doug continuing that success."
"While the memory of Jimmy and Adam will stay with us, Joe and Doug are real stars who can take "The Man Show" to a whole new level," said Stone. "Now we will have a better excuse than ever to drink beer and watch girls jumping on trampolines," added Stanley.
Rogan comments, "I'm so excited about doing this show that I can barely contain myself. Doug and I had dinner and talked about it, the night it all became official, and we were giggling like a couple of schoolgirls on a sugar high. If our visions can be brought to fruition, this could easily be one of the funniest, most f***ed up shows in the history of television."
"I grew up watching 'The Man Show' as a child and used to pretend to be Adam Carolla," says Stanhope. "I remember being six or seven years old, standing on the coffee table in front of my folks, delivering punch lines while my brother Jeff jumped on a trampoline in a uni-tard. To actually be the new host is like living a dream."
Named as one of the Top Ten Comics To Watch in 2002 by both Variety and the Hollywood Reporter, Doug Stanhope's material ranges from true-life graphic perversion to volatile social criticism. His stand up has been featured on several television shows including "COMEDY CENTRAL Presents," NBC's "Late Friday" as well as appearances on "The Howard Stern Show" and "SpyTV." He also wrote, produced and starred in Fox's "Invasion of the Hidden Cameras," which aired last summer. Stanhope has also released three comedy CDs, which feature autobiographical stories about drugs, prostitution and other tales of life from a road less traveled.
"The Man Show," which is currently enjoying its fourth season on COMEDY CENTRAL, airs Sundays at 10:00 p.m. (ET/PT) and averages over one million viewers per episode. The series has been a hit with viewers since its debut in June of 1999 and will begin airing the final episodes with original hosts Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carolla on Sunday, February 23.
Created by Jimmy Kimmel, Adam Carolla and Daniel Kellison, "The Man Show" is a Stone Stanley Entertainment production and is executive produced by David G. Stanley and Scott A. Stone. Zoe Friedman is the executive in charge of production for COMEDY CENTRAL.
*sigh* I saw a shot of these two new guys...basically, they're Jimmy and Adam clones. Sad. It just won't be the same with these two clowns. They just should have ended the show. I mean, have any of you seen Jimmy Kimmel's new late-night talk show? It blows. It'll probably be cancelled soon and then what will Jimmy do? Meanwhile, we'll still be stuck with these wannabes. An era has ended.
Goodbye, Man Show, you've given me lots of wonderful memories. :(
And now....GIRLS JUMPING ON TRAMPOLINES!
