Silent Hill 3

Not bad, had a couple of moments where it nearly scared the shit out of me.

I'm already hearing rumors that say part 4 will be a sequel to the events that James went through so I dunno if it's going to be about that kid, or if james really comes out of his state of finding himself only to be wondering through the rest of old silent hill (the area Harry covered in the first one). Maybe what they could do is make a prequel explaining what happened in the past with the beginning of the cult or

so did you like that room with the big mirror in the alt-reality? Seeing the blood-trails in the reflection sneak into the sink and then start pouring out in the room your standing in while your reflection just stopped moving while turning all bloody was a total heart-attacker if I ever saw one.

The subway was a definite shout out to the movie. Go watch the movie Session 9 and check out the Hilltop Area again. It's pretty cool that they showed their respect to these movies.

It's more about unsettling ambience than horror in SH2. While it lacks in tension and urgency, it makes up tenfold in the music. Even if you don't play the game, find a copy of the soundtrack. Best music in the series by far.

I like that last song on the track so I'll have to hunt down whoever it was that did it. Good stuff!

anybody else reminded of U2's "i will be with you again" song when the intro music plays? that start guitar part sounds a lot like it.

My friend just told me a little about the plot of SH2, and I'm totally looking forward to it now!!!! It sounds really, really cool.
It doesn't exactly sound the same as the others, but i kinda like that.

That part scared me so badly I almost started crying -_-;

SH2 was pretty interesting, it was like playing the first one all over again (quite so) but it was more personal about the character rather then something happening and being directly involved.

Has anyone encountered a enemy called "Valtiel" yet? It's in the artbook for the game but I've never seen it. Looks like a featureless person holding a ninja star type weapon.

I liked SH2 alot. The game is more about a person coming to term with their personal demons than gore. *-neo

I don't think you ever actually fight Valtiel, he seems to be in the background occasionally. I died in the mall at the beginning of the game, and before the Game Over screen came up I saw him dragging her body away. Creepy stuff...

You can see Valtiel in SH3, in the Chappel, close to the end. He is the creature that is walking in the space between two hallways, draggin a nurse or some other human around.

Silent Hill series was never just about gore. It always concentrated on weird/disturbing stuff, and if the monsters and scenes were gory, they fit the story.

Agree, There are some references to both of those films. Like the Mirror in the Hallway of Dark Hospital reffering to Session 9.

I beat SH3 yesterday. Last Boss fight was rather easy once you learn boss pattern, since it just does the same set of moves over and over, with just slight variation from left to right. I did get hurt few times, but my supply of Ampolas helped :) I was expecting the 2nd round though, especially when Heather turns her back and stands with darkness behind her.

First killed it with regular guns(took about 36 shotgun shells and about 25 handgun bullets), and because I killed more monsters in melee, got Saber Beam(Now that was very cool, but too bad that it resets when you get hit, something like Chainsaw in SH2, but less sucky :)), and on second try killed it with a Maul hit to the head and got both Flamethrower and Endless SMG. Now the game is hell of a fun :) Just mawe them all with it !!!

Ok, 2 and a half replays later, I got and seen everything that this game got to offer.



Unlimited Uzi kicks all kinds of ass, and man does it rips both regular monsters and even bosses into shreds. Well except for God, since it took me a long time to take it down with it.

I havent really tried much of flamethrower, or Beam Saber though, but what I seen was cool enough, but not as good as Uzi.

So I started full 2nd replay, in hopes in scoring more than 333 kills, and I dont think I missed ANY creatures. At the end, I had about 260 kills, but I still got both Heather Beams and Transform Suit password.

So, Only thing that was left is get to UFO ending. Sexy Beam is one hillarious weapon, and I loved that Transformation cinema and how Heather says Sexy Beam before each attack. Its pretty powerfull too, and its just fun frying monsters Cyclops style.

As for UFO ending, its definately OUT THERE. Weird and Funny stuff. Too bad it wasnt animated. It would have been awesome if it would have been done in South Park style, something that seems to be inspiration to that. And Credit song was bizzare, including badly prounced words and character names.

So, Now there is nothing else SH3 can offer, and its time for another game. Untill next SH game :)
