New Sonic Game?

Probably a spin off. Either Sonic R type of game or pinball or soemthing. Maybe even Sonic RPG or golf. Can't stop using Sonic until you make every spin off possible.

I wouldn't call the GC sonic assault milking though. They have more than enough reasons to do it.

1. It's making them money
2. Nintendo fans/GC owners most likely never gave any of the sonic games a decent shot considering their love for all things Mario.
3. No one probably gave the DC a decent shot, so SA1 and SA2 are brand new games to a lot of people.
4. Since Sonic team spent so much effort and moola on these DC games, might as well bring all of them to the cube to give them fairer shots at suceeding.(this goes for all the other DC porting every Sega company has done)

I'd love to see a new Sonic kart racer. I've never played Sonic R, but I'd just like to see them do a next gen Mario Kart-type thing with Sega characters. And Traveler's Tales isn't that bad. The last Crash Bandicoot was plenty fun, which they developed.

Exactly! GC owners and Nintendo fans probably never even played it on the DC, which is probably the main reason it sold well and why SA1 is coming out for the GC.

ah pipe down Lucas, how much time did you actually spend with sonic R? Once you get past the learning curve it's great fun with a fairly nice and impressive (for Saturn) 3D engine. And even if you give it a fair amount of time and the gameplay just isn't for you, it's still worth the price of admission for that soundtrack. I cannot believe B-Univ was not responsible for it.

the sountrack was actually pretty good from what i remember. but the learning curve wasn't my problem with the game, it's the shitty controls that did it for me.

and yes, the game did have an impressive engine for the Saturn. used to be the nicest 3D i remember seeing on the Saturn infact, that was until i saw that Shenmue footage.

You should I have stuck with it. Super Mario Kart and Wacky races had shitty controls at first, but then when you got good, you wouldn't have the controls any other way.

Same with DC Daytona. Too many people think the controls were broken compared to the arcade but without a wheel, that's the way it should be.

Super Mario Kart has never had bad controls. no idea what you're talking about.

as for DC Daytona, the controls weren't bad, just super sensitive. it could be adjusted very easily in the options menu. i guess a lot of people didn't notice that.

CC, without a wheel, the controls on the Saturn game were great. Without a wheel, the controls on the DC version of Daytona were more or less shit, unless you spent quite a bit of time fine-tuning the sensitivity of them, and even then they weren't perfect. The Mario Kart games have always had fantastic controls, what with them being responsive AND having a nice button layout to boot. Wacky Races' controls were spotty though, which ended up being the least of the game's troubles.

dude, it takes like 2 seconds to adjust it. the best way to go about getting the closet possible feel to the arcade version, it to drop it all the way, and use the softest possible wheels. it won't be perfect, but it's as close as you're gonna get. and you can get used to it very easily. after 2 laps or so in the advance stage, i had no problems at all. i was owning everyone online...man, those were good days.

Yes, it does only take a few seconds to adjust it, but I'm taking into account the time it takes to test out those adjustments on the track.

I don't know about you guys but I was sliding everywhere the first couple of times playing Mario Kart.

Wacky Races is actually better than Mario Kart 64. I thought the game was well designed. Looney Tune Space race was only alright though.

Lucas, bitching? It's the only real problem I have with the DC game. I love the redone graphics, and the ability to change car colors and stuff, I just don't dig the controls as much as the Saturn version's,

Sonic R sucked, if you played it with the standard pad, but was a pretty decent game when played with the 3-D controller. I still traded it in for credit towards my launch DC.

I had no problems with Daytona on the DC. I could'nt understand why anyone bitched about the controls.

even playing with a real trackball here, its not all that good.

hmmm....well, i can't say i remember playing you. anyways, if that is indeed the case, i demand a rematch. how does Pakmann sound? they have 8 of them linked up. although a good amount of them manage to over power whoever is controling them and steers itself. a lot like that sit down Hard Drivin cabinet.

i think we should do it though, it'll give us an excuse to hang out no less. im sure mvs wouldn't mind joining us too. he seems to think it's the best arcade game ever, so im sure he's always up for some Daytona.

hell yeah, sounds like a plan, and I'd have to pretty much agree with him, Daytona is just like the best friggin' game and the arcade version is the best version of it! Ridge Racer is still tops in my book, but Sega Rally, Wipeout, original Daytona and a few others are right behind. Hell either way, you guys both need to come down and hang out at my place sometime and puff a doober... :P

You're crazy. It's your opinion, but you're crazy. I'm no Nintendo fan, but barring CTR, Mario Kart on the SNES is the best of it's kind... and droping down on people in the 64 version was pretty swell too.

Super Mario Kart SNES is one of my fave games of all time. Mario kart 64 just kinda sucked. Did you guys even play Wacky Races? I thought it sucked at first but it rocks. Way better than Looney Space Race. I didn't like CTR.

Anything is better than Wacky Races, from a gameplay perspective. The fun wears off when the actual game begins. Sure it captures the look, feel, and sound of the show, but the actual game is just dreadful. Mario Kart 64 is my favorite Mario Kart game, I never did get why folks bashed it endlessly.

Try playing it for real. It captures the fun of Super Mario Kart better than Mario Kart 64 does. Playing as in actually getting first in every track. It's pretty fun and there's nothing wrong with the controls are anything.

It is damn near impossible to make any sort of lasting change in a place standing due to the rubber band AI. The controls are nice and all, but the game suffers from the cheapest rubber band AI I've ever seen in my life.
