Question about the movie Fight Club

Ok, so, I just finished reading the novel Fight Club (yes, it was a book before it was a movie, no I didn't know that either). Now, I've never seen the movie so I'm interested in seeing it now that I've finihsed the book.

Thing is... I get kinda squeemish about seeing a lot of blood and violence. Is this going to get in the way of seeing the movie? My girlfriend saw it years ago and says she beleives it's pretty graphic and thinks she remembers someone getting "curbed" in it. I don't think I'd even bother renting it if it gets that bad, especially if someone gets curbed.

If someone could verify this before tommorow afternoon (Tuesday) that'd be great, if it's not that bad I wanna go rent it. Thanks.

Fight Club is bloody and violent, but that is the nature of the story, just like the book.

The book was fantastic, as was the movie. It's my favorite movie of all time, and I feel it should be required viewing for all males ages 17+.

Oh well, I was pretty sure it wasn't in Fight Club considering it wasn't in the book but I also heard that they changed a bunch of stuff. Even "I am Joe's blah blah blah" to "I am Jack's blah blah blah". Which is really stupid in my opinion.

That deffinatly didn't happen in Fight Club. I only saw American History X once, and that scene is forever burned in my mind.....I can't watch stuff like that either.

They change some stuff around from the book, but who cares, it all got Chuck Palahniuk's approval.

Get the DVD and listen to his commentary track, it's really interesting. He goes indepth into why some of the characters act the way they do.

Great stuff.

This really is the best movie I've ever seen. It just managed to do everything right. Cinematagraphy, editing, acting, special effects, you name it, it's all aces.

Still watch the movie. If it gets bad just close your eyes until you stop hearing punches being thrown. The fights aren't a main part of the movie - just because it's called Fight Club doesn't mean its about fighting.

There's only one scene that I think is overly violent (where he disfigures angel face). Even if you are squeemish, its well worth seeing.

also, I'd just like to add that its probably the most overrated movie ever. Not to say its not excellent, but it gets way more praise than it deserves.

Agrees with Regus. FC is a great movie, and while its pretty violent, its all fit the theme and the story.

Come on man, dont be a pussy. Watch the damn movie :)
