I can't keep up with Buster and his crew anymore.
Well I've been trying to keep track of this thing for awhile now but no new info has been coming out.
SWING! is the Europeon Publisher and their site is "TEMPORARILY OFFLINE". They are also the ones had the www.dotu.net site posted. I hope they are possibly updating it. Btw, the Europeon version was schedueld for Quarter 1, 2003
Conspiracy Entertainment is bringing the game to the States, except Conspiracy has some serious fucken problems. Their site hadn't been updated since last June, and I sent them multiple e-mails but never got any response. Their site is currently down as well with the title "COMING SOON"
It seems like the game must have stopped production or they just left a couple people to finish it up. Once Dragon Drive comes out though, we can figure which or if any Treasure employees are stuck working on it. Or maybe their are some publishing problems
The game looks great, and the site is really cool.
I hope this get's polished off quick. I'm jonesin' for some Buster action!
Is it PS2 only?
It seemed that it was only gonna be on PSX, but now it seems to be on PS2. Perhaps the delay has something to do with switching platforms?
I thought it was PS2 all along.
There were unconfirmed rumors of a Cube port but if the PS2 version has been held up this long...
Anyway, I hope the game does come out and I hope Conspiracy is doing OK. They've had a few turds but I salute them for Road Trip, Bangaio, and Lodoss War. *-neo
I'm really eager to see this game get shipped. In addition to having somecool ideas to the Rakugaki formula, and looking like a game I'd want to play with my freinds, I think some of Treasure's best staff are probably tied up on this game, just judging by who worked on Rakugaki, and who's absent from other recent efforts.
It's been planned for the PS2 the entire time, and the "GC" rumors came from Conspiracys old site, for some reason they had it on their GC page as well.
I really want some 4P CO-OP action which is something my friends and I have been looking foward to. We already got our characters picked out..Buster owns.
Irk! Someone give Treasure a call and get to the bottom of this already. I elect 7F since he's the closest ;)
At one point a completely different TT game for GC was announced. Called "Volgen's Revenge". It was supposed to be a platformer. People thought that game was the ssame as defenders which resulted in confusion as well.Quote:

I'm pretty sure Volgen's Revenge must have been scrapped or converted into Wario World or something.
Rakugaki Showtime was one of the sweetest multiplayer games ever made.
After e-mailing every single address conspiracy gives on their old site (including Game Hints/Tips) , I finally got a reply.
Their site will be back up before the end of 2003. Otherwise, nothing important was said about Defenders.
I want this game so bad, it gives me pain.
Funny, I just thought of this the other day and was going to post a thread asking the exact same thing. Wierd.
We almost posted at the same time! We could have ripped a black hole right in the middle of TNL!
A Blackhole thrown with a Forward Drive or a Backward Drive? ^_^Quote:

What happened to the US release of the GBA Tiny Toons game?
Heh, ask Conspiracy Entertainment, the same company who is releasing this game :\Quote:

Is there any chance that Dragon Drive will come to the US, or should I just import now?
Better get the import.
I noticed in one of the videos over at www.dotu.net that a new "GROUND DASH" has been added. Basically like the Homing jump, except performed on the ground and REALLY fast, it seems.
I recall starting a thread on this game a long time ago.
I highly suggest you read the "story" over on the dotu site, it is funny, and makes the game sound really fun.
I'd really like to see this game finally come out.
Somebody find Ryan and wake him up. This discussion is suddenly relevant again.
I love how everything gets answered in the end. Now that this is out there, it's interesting to see just how complete it was. As far as I can tell it's 100% done, and fairly polished, too, with lots of pretty decent dialog (by TT standards) from the original voice actors and a lengthy adventure mode campaign. I could see this being a blast for co-op. It's not amazing solo, but it's not bad.
I'm still figuring out some of the gameplay, though. There's not more punching/kicking like Rakugaki, but there's a new attack that doesn't work most of the time when I do it, and I haven't figured out the criteria for doing it right. There's also very few characters unlocked at the beginning, but it seems like there are lots total.
I just tried it for 5 minutes, I am having a hard time with that marker dash thing. Other than that, it seems to be very simplistic and the game doesn't look all that great (even in 2003 standard). I took a 3 minute HDef video but not sure if I can upload it to youtube...
I think it was easier for me to pick up because I've played Rakugaki before. The homing jump works pretty much the same way.
Things get a little more interesting as the game progresses. The fundamentals are very simple, but there are more items and the levels themselves get more complicated. It's also a surprisingly difficult game.
Yah that beginning part where you have to race across the classroom corridor with all the flying debris just make me want to kill myself. Treasure always make tough games.
So this apparently wasn't quite 100% finished. There are some wonky text strings in the pyramid stage that run off the edge of the screen. Stuff that probably had to do with localization on Conspiracy's end. Not too big a deal. Also one of the puzzles in this stage has me kind of stumped.
Bingo! I uploaded the first 3 minute of me playing this game. I forgot to hook up the optical cable to receiver so there is no sound, and as you can see, I have no idea what I was doing....
Nevermind, it is not ready yet... I will repost when it is finished processing.
For some reason I can't imbed it, but you can click and watch it below.

Man, you are really bad at holding a camera.
I was trying to play the game AND holding the camera, at 2:00am....
So, where can I get a copy? Because google pulls up this thread...a lot of help that does since I'm already here.
There might be another thread somewhere else on this board.
Anyway, I finished this today. It's a pretty good game for what it is. Not a great game, but it's fun and makes good use of the license. The multiplayer isn't as strong as Rakugaki (it seems like there's only one stage? Maybe I just haven't unlocked them, though, I already unlocked lots of characters and there are more I haven't gotten yet), but the single player is a lot more interesting. There are a couple stages that required more trial and error than I liked given the timer ticking down (the last stage especially, ugh), but it's cool to see the simple Rakugaki foundation fleshed out to a real arcade action/adventure.
Also, I sort of suspected this was made largely by members of the Stretch Panic/Wario World team, but it's actually mostly Guardian Heroes staff, interestingly enough. I think some of the ideas from this made their way into Advanced Guardian Heroes (raft stage, some of the jump mechanics...)
This looks wretched.
If it wasn't made by Treasure you wouldn't have played past the first stage.
Based on a 2 minute video with no sound of the tutorial played by someone who doesn't know the controls? Nice troll.
And honestly, it's not great, but it's a lot better than Stretch Panic or Dragon Drive, or the other Treasure Tiny Toons game, and makes pretty good use of the license, even. It's also a better single player experience than Rakugaki Showtime, which was a pretty good game. Plus it's just something unique-playing which is always worth points.
It's what everyone in this thread hoped it'd be. No more, no less.
I hoped that it would be a big pile of shit so i didn't have to worry about it.
I was right!?!?!?!??!?!?!??!??!
It's not a pile of shit, but pretty mediocre IMO.
i want a not 1 grillion dollars Rakugaki Showtime playable on a not modded or disk-swap or import Playstation. It'll NEVAR happen. ): ): ): ;___;
It's on the Japanese PSN I do believe.
