ANTS

It's 4:45am.

I got work in about 10 hours and I just stood up all night battling a legion of self repeating immortal ants with gallons upon gallons of deadly bug killer.

I've held off their forces for now but I know they're regrouping. Waiting for me to go for rest before they strike back with pure, unmatched vengence upon absolute nothingness. Theres nothing considered sugary in my room at the moment.

Is there any surefire way to keep these things out of my room? The main problem is that we're still not sure where they're coming from. Right now I'm just spraying the crap out of the general area that they feel like appearing in at the moment but that gets old and I bet these whacky fumes are very good for me.

Everytime I feel an itch I start freaking out thinking an ant is on me :(

I would put down some Terro near the window and any other suspicious cracks. Terro is a cheap boric acid based ant poison that's harmless to you. It will attract the ants (keeping them away from you and your stuff) at the very least.

You'll not take care of an ant problem form inside your house. I garauntee the offending party has a nest just outside your room, and have found some way in (probably through a crack, as suggested by Burg).

Check around your house, paying particular attention to the area just outside your room...and when you find what your looking for, drown them out with a hose. Problem solved, sans expensive anti-pest agents. :D

Ha, The only Ant problem we had was with about 3 ant hills on our front lawn and backyard. Which I took care on 4th, with a good doze of chemical warfare. Sadly there were no survivors or witnesses to tell the story of this heinous act :p

But now the lawn look better and ant free.

Nah, Fuckers survive the drowning. I tried, believe me. I friggin flooded one of the ant hills with water, and they still rebuilded it. Chemical solution with water with bigger concentration than was on the box, did the trick.

I heard an easy, non-chemical way is to leave a partially eaten chicken leg outside of your house so the ants will stay outside instead of in. Not sure if it's a long term solution though. :/

I was having this problem, but with fire ants. Huge, mean, nasty, Puerto Rican fire ants. The kind that steal away children in the dead of night. I bought some of that sandy ant killer and sprinkled it around the edges of my house and that seems to keep them at bay.

I still lock all my doors at night and sleep with one eye open though.

I used to have a problem with tiny little "pissants" (as my relatives from the South call them) in my kitchen during the summer months.

All I had to do to get rid of them was move my cat's food bowl to another area of the kitchen, then leave a bunch of poison ant baits in its place. Worked like a charm! I still check Luna's bowl every once in a while to see if it has ants in it, but it still doesn't.

there's ants in several rooms of our house. It seems to be a problem that manifests itself every summer. And like every summer, we can never get rid of them completely until the weather cools down.
