The Chao-raising thread.

Now, to start up some much-needed Chao discussion...
First off, I've always found the little buggers to be fun to play around with. But, now that there is no Chao Adventure in the new Sonic Adventure DX game, raising them has been a lot more annoying. There is no longer an easy way to just pound stats into a critter (besides porting it over to Sonic Adventure 2 Battle...) without spending countless hours feeding certain animals to certain Chao, but it has to be done to get all those emblems. Quite the brick wall to face when one actually has a life to attend to. Anybody have any sure fire methods of leveling one of the little suckers up?
Something else I've noticed... in the new EGM, there is a Chao section in the tricks area of the magazine. In it, "adventure walks" are mentioned, and the description they give of them are of the VMU Chao Adventure from Sonic Adventure on the DC. Is there some rumored way to unlock them, or is EGM being stupid again?

I haven't played the GC version, but doesn't the GBA link take the place of the VMU?

And for what it's worth, the chao breeding in SA1 is far superior to that in SA2, since you the animals you feed them actually transform the chao's bodies, allowing you to make some cool looking chaos, unlike the stupid devil/angel crap in sa2.

Not exactly.
All the GC-GBA stuff gives you on all fronts is a "Tiny Chao Garden" which runs in real time. No Adventure with unlimited time to play random games and increase stats like crazy. Just play games, get rings, buy fruits, increase stats... somewhat. Not quite as fun.
