Jeepers Creepers 2
I had mixed feelings about the first one. I thought the build up and tension in the first hour was great. Creepy stuff, a bit of a Texas Chainsaw Massacre vibe. Being chased thru Country roads is creepy. During the second half things went downhill, lots of Horror cliches, which is ok, and yeah al Horror fans are used to that, I just was hoping that thes second half would be as good as the first. I am looking forward to the sequel though. Wow two major Horrror releases this month, a good time to be a Horror fan.

Well, I liked the original, even with the flaws, cliches and such it had. My wife got scared enough to leave the theater :p
But I probably wont be catching JP2 in theaters, since I've seen too many movies this summer, but definately check it out on dvd.
And I liked design of Creeper creature.

I'm looking forward to it. I'm not expecting anything close to the surprisingly good original, but I think it will be competent at the very least. The two main characters in the original were especially well-written, and the acting was better than the typical modern horror film. I'm glad Victor Salva is directing again - he handles the camera with a lot more style than most directors in the genre, and is able to make normally uninteresting shots unique and atmospheric. But I still have the feeling the sequel will concentrate more on horror convention and give up the character development that set the first film apart from the genre norm.
The original's sequence inside the Creeper's lair was particularly well-done - probably my favorite part of the film.
Plus my wife liked it, so that's a lock towards seeing it upon theatrical release.
While I agree to a point that the original's second half wasn't quite as gripping as the first, I didn't think it lost that much momentum. My main gripe with the film was that I thought it could have used 15-20 more minutes, and ended abruptly, but even so I didn't feel cheated.

I always enjoy the cops vs beast showdowns in movies.
Plus I like when the badguy wins every now and then.
Good stuff.
2 kinda looks like a teen horror thing though. Hopefully it turns out well.

Despair - Aw come on man, see it in the theatres. I hope you went to comfort you wife when she got scared though. I thought one of the avatars you used was from Jeepers Creepers 2.
Bio- That's cool you Wife likes the horrror.
Evilmog- Teen horror is great in my book, but I also think that the horror genre shouldn't just be teenagers in peril either.

Korian, my wife was ok. She easily scarred though, thats why most of horror films is not her favorite genre, but she's ok with me loving them.
I might try find time to see it, but with house painting project still need to be finished, I might not have any time in late August.

The trailer for Jeeper Creeprers 2 makes it look like the whole movie is shot on one set and took about 2 million dollars to film.
