ok so, the time to has come to hunt down some Twin Sticks. so i had a few questions before i do so.
aside from that, um...it is a VOOT thread after all, so feel free to talk about how great the game is.
- Does the US Version support the Twin Sticks?
- Does the import work with the utopia boot disc?
- this one is for sevenforce and Sidez. how much do Twin Sticks usually go for down in japan?
DC Twinsticks are a bit on the expensive side. You might want to think about getting some Saturn Twinsticks, and then a controller adapter.
i thought that wouldn't work for whatever reasons. anyways, that sounds good to me, i like the way the Saturn ones look more anyways.
still, im sure they'd be a lot cheaper if you were to buy them somewhere in japan, and not get ass raped on ebay or something.

I can play VOOT anyday of the week. Unfortunately, I've never been able to play against human competition, so my experience has been lacking in that regard. VOOT controls just fine, IMO, with the DC controller but try and get a pair of Twinsticks if you can.

Saturn sticks are generally cheaper and more durable, so they aren't a bad idea. On the other hand, the Saturn sticks + a Total Control 3 adaptor (the only one that works, unless you only plan on playing System Link mode) might be more than the price of the DC sticks (you probably won't want to play Saturn VO, it's a horrid port), and the Special button is much easier to use with the DC pair.
Either one will work fine with the US release of the game.
Oh, and link cable mode is excellent, if you feel like hunting the cable down. You need to input a code to use it in the US release, though. (At the 'Press Start' screen, with a NORMAL DC controller, hit a + L + R and start)
I consider VOOT to be one of the greatest games ever made, if not the greatest. I really haven't been playing it lately simply because, like The Gooch, I lack competition. A damn shame that the US VOOT Netplay project (http://voot.sf.net) seems to be on a permenant hiatus, though considering how long Quad's been actively working on it, you never know.
Is it true that a certain movement/attack can't be done on VOOT using Saturn sticks?
Great game, been playing it alot the past week. For some reason when I think of great DC titles, this one slips the mind. Marz got a US date yet? *-neo
hmm, Lucas, I'm nearly tempted to sell you my Saturn sticks. It's one of those things though; I'd be missing the "Twin Stick Experience" for the rest of my life ...I don't really think I'm ready to part yet.
Like most everyone else, I've never gotten to experience any real human competition either. Anybody that's seen my controllers out get's all excited to play, but nobody has been patient enough to grasp the mechanics. Is it just me or does the game require some serious study to master?
Not any specific attack that I know of. Playing as Balbados would be a living hell, though, and I'm sure that's not the only problem with the start button position.Quote:

ncs used to have a warehouse full of the saturn sticks for $5 a piece. never sold so they destroyed them. sad really.
