LOL!! you're killing me!! seriously!!
Metal Slug 3 has better animation than SF3 and any other handdrawn 2D game (if it's not as smooth or smoother, it's definitely more detailed than SF3).
. . . Except it's not a fighter.
SFIII changes primarily in the Super and parrying game, which is where the rearranged strategies come into play. On a Special Move level the characters work much the same way.Quote:
You're really making some odd connections there, 'Deus. With Q, Hugo, Urien, I think that you're grasping at straws.
MS' animation is definately smooth with a lot of frames, to the point where witnessing a powerdown take effect gives you enough time to crack open a soda can and start drinking. But saying it's more detailed can be argued, especially considering sprite size comparision.Quote:

The character sprites in SF3 look nice, but a lot of the game's backgrounds were always sorta weak, and near-static in some instances (like 3rd Strike for example).
The same can be said for the entire Metal Slug series, but part 3 is the best example of the insane use of sprites and animation. No other 2D game can compete. MotW came close to becoming the Metal Slug of 2D fighters, but the NG was noticeably struggling with the game's animation as is, as evidenced by MotW's small characters and slowdown problems.
Okay, point granted. I don't know about detail, but the sheer volume of it wins out.Quote:

It looks nice and all, but one thing bugs me....why do people ALWAYS have to call Darkstalkers games "goofy"? Why why WHY?
Their list of the top 5 fighting games everyone should own.
#1 SF3-3rd Strike
#2 Virtua Fighter 4 Evo
#3 Samurai Shodown 2
#4 Soul Calibur 2
#5 FF: Mark of the Wolves
Haha, bunch of jokers. GGXX #Reload (for the rushdown, combo madness and game system) and SSF2X (for the purity, anyone can play this and have no excuses for losing) should be in there. Putting MOTW there is just really ignorant. Respect for the first two choices though.Quote:
