I need that last soul as well. It almost looks like that candle is after the 2nd cut scene, meaning I can't get to it [it's only after the second cut scene, as Raikoh walks to the end of the tunnel, that the last pillar/candle become visible.] Maybe I'm missing something, but I'll try a few more times tonight.Quote:

I spent the last 3+ hours doing nothing but collecting souls in previous levels and earlier today spent a couple hours building up cash in P.N.03, and in neither did I touch a new level. Once I'm done with these I'm not messing with a game that needs me to play a level over and over to build up anything for quite a while. The only level left is that damn boat level, because I really don't want to fly around bashing random masts while trying to protect the ship. Bah.
I have a feeling this protect the spirit level will tick me off, as I've grown fond of the Golden Dragon and Needle of Fury (and am currently level 22). Being powerful isn't good when you need to be next to something to protect it and you can hurt it.
Ah, but it's so nice being able to rip through enemies like they aren't there. Sweet, beautious strength.

Man, I've been complaining about couple of levels in Otogi. I love the game, but few levels can be extremely frustraiting.
Despair, just ignore those Mages and dash to the end of the stage (it's stage 4 in reverse - remember the one with the "No One Shall Pass" statue?). There you'll fight one of those Raven King enemies, and he gives up the Cord once you ace him. You can always come back and trash the level later when you've levelled up.
FINALLY! Moonlight! And the stupid thing is, I have no idea how it happened. I made it to the end of the stage, and stood right underneath the candle, jumped straight up to try and slash it, then the Hydra fell on me. I was losing health right and left, could barely see what was happening on-screen, then suddenly the stage ended.....and somehow the final soul got released! yaaaaaay :p Actually I think the Hydra got the candle for me, but whatever. I savored killing that damn thing for the super-cool Orchid Malevolence.
I ended up clearing the Hydra level 17 times.....and that's not counting the times I died. Getting this final soul is about the only black mark I can give this game - it was simply too frustrating for me - but it was worth the trouble.
Ok, I will try finding the end of the level. But I constantly getting lost, because its just too damn dark. But I should get through it eventually.

I like the way the Omyoji character turned out, and the Werewolf ain't bad either.
why is raiko looking more and more like marylin manson? Anyhow, a werewolf with a darth maul katana, fanboys are going to pee their pants. and is the guy in the first pic the "none shall pass" guy?? looks purdy, lets see a us release date, like maybe next tuesday:D.

Late to the party agains, damn. What a fantastic game.
One question for all you completists out there. Do you acquire the spirits only by destroying property? Cause I have an A ranking on the second level, but only 80% of the spirits.
Also, while playing the first couple of hours I attained Shimitars which were so cool, but I shut the Xbox and forgot to save, now I can't seem to find them anymore. Any clue?

I picked it back up a few days ago and am on the last boss. It's a beautiful game, though the level diffuculty will range from tough to super easy depending on if you know what things to bring with you. Here's some more pics of the sequal, nice box art-

Just finished it. That last boss is the lamest thing ever. He's designed specifically to exploit their horrible camera system. Totally soured me on the game.

I played Otogi on 2nd play and I thought their was supposed to be some 2nd ending. Nothing changed? What about everyone else here?

Werewolf, it looks like his name is Watanabe no Shina, which translates to "the wolf of Watanabe," assuming, of course, "Watanabe" is a proper name.
I still need to finish this. I got stuck on one of the too dark levels, and sadly never went back to it.

It's funny. I tried playing this game again recently and found my skills has all been lost. I couldn't even clear a relatively easy level. Guess I've been away from it for too long.

Link? He was her boyfriend or lover or whatever. She was only hanging onto life in order to stop him, so once he was finally stopped, she died because that purpose had been completed. It's a bit subtle, but easier to pick up if you played with subtitles on.
ooooh so that's why she says something like "finally, it is over yatta yatta". Makes alot more sense now!
A shame alot of people won't realize that. I finished it twice on second play and sorta noticed that change but didnt think it was that important.

Ah, dude you're going to love it, that is, if you like action games based on old folklore. Otogi was a little sketchy to me at first, when I rented it I found it extremely hard. Mostly due to the wrong magic/weapon associations. When I finally bought it a month ago i finished it in one day. Great game, hope you enjoy it.
i can't wait. hopefiully the game and my Dane Cook cd will arrive on the same day so i can throw demons around while laughing my ass off
w00t! Got Otogi in yesterday and got to play it for about an hour before i had to go to work. Happy to say it's everything i thought it would be and more. Only bad part is I Probably wont have any more time with it till after work Thursday morning. but at least i have it now
