I thought that cave games always slow down intentionaly when a certain number of objects are on the screen, Mode7 can you confirm this? Maybe this has been changed for Galuda since one of the play mechanics deals with slowing the action down.

Depends on the game. Often times there's both hardware and software slowdown; it's pretty easy to differentiate, though. Just look for frames dropping, sprite flicker or wonky animation. None of which were in PS2 DOJ, so I think any complaints there are groundless. The ESPgaluda bonus sprite glitches mentioned earlier were resolved as well -- Arika's been doing a fine job of these ports.
Not really serious framerate problems- like I mentioned it seemed more like the intentional type of slowdown.Quote:

I thought it was supposed to be in and ship today but i did not get that email.
Just spent some time with an arr-mateyed copy, as I didn't see the sense in waiting. Hopefully someone will upload the DVD replay somewhere so I don't have to open my copy period. Anyway!
This is by far a kinder, gentler Cave than the one we saw in DDP: DOJ. Took me maybe ten runs to reach the final boss' second-final form and a score of 23 million; I don't think many players will struggle with a 1CC.
So, yeah -- immediately accessible, but clearly a lot of depth to be found. I think Galuda will be well-received by both score fiends and the less... obsessive fans of the genre. Something that DOJ, for all its charms, couldn't quite manage.
Not yet for me either...Quote:

Anyhow, I never bothered modding my PS2, so arrrrrrrr isn't an option. I ordered from ncsx, and still haven't recieved a confirmation email :(
I too arred a copy while waiting for mine to come
I like it, personally i still like ESP Ra De more but it's a good game, only given it about an hours worth of time so far so I'll have to put more time into it today.
How does one access stage 5.1 and 5.2(what kind of goals are we talking about or do you have to beat 5.1 to get to 5.2)?
Got to listen to the siesta AST yesterday thanks to Virael, pretty nice while it doesn't best the real one it sure has grown on me after a few runs.
