Why IS it called ESPgaluga anyway? It looks, sounds, and plays like DDP Dai-ou-jou. And how much of the original story is still around?

MASSIVE thanks to Seven Force.

The final pattern is just... wrong. So wrong.

This was just such a spectacularly silly thing to say that I thought it worth quoting.Quote:

It has wings..and the alice clones.
And it does. Apparently it's a prequel, by the way.
Very cool. :) Kado Tukasa (Yuji Sakabon, who also did Border Down's artwork) is as good as Jun, IMO.Quote:

Love the music.
So you're saying that a magical, medival setting should be the future?Quote:

yes. previous history points to:
no.
Did someone say home port?

See, Arika is making up for SFEX left and right(Though I did enjoy the EX series but, y'know).
So what I'm hearing here is that it's just about time to finally get a J-PS2. Great, like I need more consoles in here. :)
James
YES OH YES GOD THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU =D =D =D

As far as I'm concerned this atones for Esprade being stranded on cellphones.
I thought shooters were dead. So why do I have to fork over the money for three of them in the near future? :p
Now I don't have to buy that PCB this summer!
I watch the level 2 video everyday, this game rocks my face.
Oh. My. God.
I mean, this, just, wow, damn. Holy. Yeah. Awesome. It's, like.
*humps madly*
:D
Best gaming news of 04 thus far.
JM
Booyams.
Thanks for saving me a few hundred, Arika.
Coolness.
It would be super-duper cool if 'Rade was 'hidden' somewhere in the program.
time to mod my PS2.... somehow..
but yea, this is a beautiful game.
Sweet fucking jeebus YES!
ohh my god i need to go change my pants now

Truth. Hell, even if you don't own a JPS2 or modded system get Dai-ou-jou. It's worth the mod alone and a few years down the line is going to be a pain in the butt to find under $90.Quote:

Heh, I didn't expect him to actually be "Matt".
Arika put up their ESP Galuda page at http://www.arika.co.jp/product/espgaluda/index.html . Through Babelfish it reads,
None of this makes any sense to me, but that "high-speed steel koala" sounds promising. The interesting thing there is the mention of a DVD. Seems like it will be pretty much what came with Dai-ou-jou (a DVD with god replays). Release date on the page simply says 2004.Quote:
The high-speed steel core shooting prayer complete transplantation edition for home of the vertical scroll shooting "エスプガルーダ" of course is loved in the various prayers for business which appears as the software for PlayStasion2.
The arcade mode which transplants one for business faithfully of course thing, the high-speed steel koala - to prepared the individual mode for home which it can be satisfied from the beginner.
"Side picture mode" "vertical picture side scroll mode" and so on, colorful setting is possible in order with game main part supposes the user environment various, to answer the needs of the user.
In addition, also playing the game continuously from the playback middle retention of the play data of the user -> not to be restricted to playback perusal, loading possible "リプレイ function". Pursuit of play of ideal is possible.
Furthermore, not only degree of hardness setting of the game, all situation setting is possible, "simulation mode" and, new skill is possible, the world "of エスプガルーダ" "original mode (temporary)" loading, the fan necessary illustration setting data collection of seeing other than "gallery mode" of full load, "special DVD due to the prayer of super A class" is bundled.
Also without becoming the shooting fan, it is one of indispensableness.

Look for Irori and J-B 5th's shots!
Also: Release date = spring...?!

JB 5th!
Coolest bonus ever? Yes.
Mode you can also see the JB-5th shot being used in that porno-stly mosaic thing behind the text...
:creame:
Yeah, I knew what was going on there even before the still pictures. I'd recognize that shot with my eyes closed.
Err.
Anyway, super-cool.
I'm more excited about this than I was about DOJ, & I got a JPS2 for that game.
Can't Fucking Wait.
JM
wowee wow wow! maybe they will port ketsui too!
Bless you twice again, Arika. Once for porting ESPGaluda- and once more for the guest appearances by Irori & J-B 5th.
Even having a Ketsui PCB already, I'm up for a PS2 version should Arika decide to do it later- especially considering the DVDs and other extras found in DOJ & ESPG.
Well, there's my new sig.Quote:

What can you say about that, really?
Damned cell phones, they get all the Cave lovin'. Hell, I wouldn't say no to PS2 ports of the cell phone ports of ESP Ra De and Guwange.
What the hell is up with the shmups forum?
Sorry Mode, you'll have to help becasue I am an idiot. I translated that with excite now I am just more confused. Guwange DX for Cellphones? Is that it? along with regular Guwange? Or is one of these a PC game or...
Sorry| ME = MORON
It's Guwange for cell-phones which, I suppose, they're calling Guwange DX. That's about it.
weak

Galuda Pre-orders - shipping in May?
I'm down.
ordered. thanks victrix.
So tell me, with games like R-Type Final coming here (and doing pretty good so far), and Gradius V about to hit soon, why the fuck dosen't someone pick up this game or that Dodonpachi sequel for US release?
as cliche as it sounds, they're both 2d. lo-res 2d at that.
Just pisses me off, because as much as I'd like to play them, I don't want to mod my ps2 for only two games, too much hassle for me (everything else I wanted is getting brought out here).Quote:

I'm gonna pre-order mine from play-asia this time, both Ikaruga and DDP DOJ was delayed a couple of days even though I pre-ordered them when NCXS first put em up.

Just saw on Click_Sticks page that an OST will be released in march, I soo got to have that one so hopefully someone will pick up an extra copy, damn the price..
I must..aquire a copy too.
Set your sights.
Also, all five pieces of CAVE's New Year art is GALUDA-related. Take a gander.
Release: may 13th 2004.
*bookmarks* :)
Isn't that they release date that was stated a few weeks ago?
NCSX

We're only being charged about US$6600 for this late shipment... guess paying that fat premium for quick service really doesn't matter much these days. We apologize on behalf of UPS and we'll start exploring shipping alternatives since Espgaluda's coming up and that looks like it's going to be even bigger than Psyvariar 2.
It's the official announcement by Cave ;)Quote:

Just ordered Shikigami no Shiro 2 so I can be patient about this one, especially since I probably won't be able to afford until the end of May. :p
thank you jiji :)
Almost a relief, really -- more time to polish off DOJ.
really nice video! the boss at the end has some nice patterns.Quote:

I think that is a deliberate effect that occurs when you use the slowdown technique, not graphic glitching. Also part of the link address mentions PS2-ESP-TATE, So I'm fairly sure that is the ps2 rev.
JM
No, it's definitely glitching - some of the sprite images warp into pixelly messes, and it seems like occasionally it affects the way some things look later in the stages as well. I've experienced it in the arcade version myself.
And what's this? A company attempting to pass of arcade footage as a home version? No way, that has NEVER happened before!

Weird thing is, I didn't even notice it until it was pointed out. Quite pronounced, too, now that I see it. Hopefully they'll fix that up by release. Also, I think you and JM are talking about two different things.
Right, new video featuring everyone's favourite prepubescent heroine:
http://homepage2.nifty.com/arika_dow...stplay_000.mpg
Things of note:
- Severely enhanced bullet count. Is this exclusive to the "original" ESPra.de mode? I dunno.
- Graphics glitching has clearly been fixed if these massive, massive breaks aren't inducing it.
- Arranged tunes are a go.
- May 27
Whoa! I've been out of the loop on this one. I can't find the pre-order at NCSX! AAAAARRRRGH! Seriously, I must own this. Where'd the pre-order go?
