I did some reading on these cameras today, and yeah, technically they're nothing special - just simple, mass-production cameras without bells & whistles. The effect they create on the photos they take is really neat, though. Some leave fuzz around the edges or corners, many put the image into sort of a dreamy haze. I'd kind of like to pick one up (like a Lomo Smena 8M) for cheap and play around with it - it should offer nicer results than that crappy digicam of mine.
