i have no idea what the fuck is going on, although i was able to make out a cursor, so it could very well be an on-rail shooter. unless well, the levels are completely randomly generated each time, which it seems like that could very well be the case.
anyways, from a sound and graphical stand point, this is definitely my kind of game.
im gonna be all over this one, with a gravity or gas mask ready to go. this game just looks fuckin awesome.

At first I thought it was internal section style, because it seemed like it was going down a tube and whatnot. But after watching them a few times I really don't know whats going on (thats a good thing).

It's a shame that it's so hard to hear what he's saying in the movies, because it sounds like he's describing what's happening and how you play the game.

No release date at all. The entire game is a one-man project in concept, design, and programming. It's Jeff Minter all the way with Lionhead only doing publishing duties.
So it might be a while yet, sadly. Personally, I'm guessing spring.

Basically what this is supposed to be showing off (though it doesn't really show in pics) is the realtime texture generation that will create "living textures" that respond to the music and player's actions and morph and animate constantly. I want to see it in motion.

I'm one of the biggest Tempest 2k/3k fans alive, and I've been drooling over this one for a long ass time. I really want some info on the gameplay, but the screens alone tell me that I want to play this. Reminds me a lot of Tempest 3000.

What kind of tracks would you play with this kind of game? It is not like you can play it with any old track(not in terms of being technically feasable but rather in terms of suiting the gameplay). Unity looks like it needs to have random fast techno music to suit it. It isn't a game that any music would suit like driving games etc. I mean would you want custom track options in an adventure game?Quote:

Minter said he does want to make a mode that allows you to play to your own music, but it's unclear how this will work at the moment.
Personally, I'm hoping someone hacks a cheap and simple way to run an audio line-in through the controller port as a peice of homebrew hardware and Minter codes support for it.
I wouldn't think that's out of the question, seeing as how he coded rotary control support into T2K when there wasn't even a rotary controller available. Made for a nice project one day to make my own :)Quote:
