Yeah... but I could say the same for just about ANY emulated game vs. the original.Quote:

Well, they did produce a sequel on GameBoy after the revision, but still no new console one. They need to make one, though I do kinda fear it being in 3D.Quote:

Yeah, the control/feel of Super Mario Bros in the All-Stars version is disturbingly wrong.
And they gave SMB 3 some fugly colors.
DOA2 on DC beats the PS2 rev.
I also prefer Rez on DC, just because the framerate doesn't jump around as much as the PS2 version.
I'm surprised nobody mentioned Street Fighter 2 on gba, which was much worse than the genesis/snes versions because of the lack of buttons on nintendo's latest handheld.
The only reason why Final Fight for the SNES was more balanced was mainly because of the SNES' sprite limits. Still, the Arcade version is better for several reasons:Quote:

1) No Guy in the SNES version. Well they did make Final Fight Guy to compesate for that, but in Cody's expense.
2) No 2-Player Mode. This is what most beat-em-ups are about anyway. Beating bad guys to bloody pulps with a buddy.
3) Round 4 and Rolento are missing.
4) Roxy and Poison were changed to men. Wait? They were always men. :p
Nigel: I guess it's the same reason why I'm looking for the original Super Mario Bros. 2 for the Famicom Disk System. The game isn't just a mere expansion pack for SMB1 as the versions included in All-Stars and SMB DX would let you to believe. The game actually had it's own graphical style too in some levels.
It doesn't make it unplayable. As a matter of fact if you never played the NES one you would love the controls. I noticed it most when I was doing some crazy shit like running fast to the right and as I approached a single block in the air I ran under and jumped, pulling back to the left to land on the block. A very easy task on the NES that can't be done on the SNES version. I know this sounds crazy but I mastered the NES game so much that this little bit bothers me. So , I just play the superior( IMO ) version on the NES.Quote:

That's probably the difference. I never really mastered SMB until I started playing All-Stars.Quote:

I really hate Mario All-Stars all-around. The "16-bit" graphics overhaul is horrid, the controls are shot (as people have mentioned), etc.
