They dedicated an article to shmups from different companies like Cave, Treasure, Alfa Systems, and Psikyo. Some nice pics too.
The article talks about the supposed "death" of 2D shmups. Funny, I thought shmups were making a bit of a comeback this year.
Most of the games mentioned in the article are new too.

I assumed the Download games were developed by NEC Avenue since I didn't see Alfa System's name on them so I'm curious to know if the article is right about that.
Also, I never knew Psikyo consisted of ex-Compile people. Psikyo's games don't seem Compile-ish to me.

I think that's pretty much rubbish. Compile and Psikyo shooters have absolutely nothing in common. I have no idea where the author of that article got his info, but he makes a lot of mistakes so I'm sure the psikyo/Compile thing is just another one.Quote:

Ok so it is hinted at here, but someone please help me understand this author and what the hell he is trying to say here. Are they saying that The Pachi games are based off of (a later released title) Giga Wing with strategy? Or relating the Pachis to a broader US release? Then on top of that are they saying that The Pachi's have "rare" certain death situations? So umm this guy can 1 credit these games no problem? Am I missing something here?
