My favorite thing to do so far is park a Warthog in an enemy base during a CTF and camp out somewhere close. Inevitably, someone on that team is gonna hop in that Jeep, and that's when they catch a plasma grenade upside the head. :D

I do the same thing...
That warthog is so tempting... BOOM!
Quickie thoughts: Doesn't seem to be nearly as much of a gap here as most FPS' have when switching formats. It feels just like the XBox version, which will please some just fine but gets on my nerves.
The jumping now annoys me even more, I'm almost tempted to say they increased the hang time but I know that's more just compared to what I expect when I sit down at the PC. Auto-aim is still there and Master Chief still runs with all the speed of a crippled child (I keep looking for a run button and realizing I'm already at full speed). What this game really needs is a speed mod.
The textures look to be the same ones they used on XBox, which provides that great oddity most console->PC ports have of constant blurry low-res crap mixed with the occasional high-res texture. Looks really odd, especially when you have a high-res nametag that's easily readable placed on an outift that looks like someone went wild with Photoshop's smudge tool and then used the worst compression possible. It's not completely detracting and certainly doesn't affect the gameplay, but it really screams how old the game is.
As an aside, I really wish you could actually control squadmates, especially after playing with Breed.
But again, anyone who loved Halo on XBox should love this as they really didn't change a damn thing. Anywhere. Just went through the first level and a half and aside from missing textures since this is an early version I didn't see a single difference.
Anyone play much of the beta that leaked? I was wondering if it had online multiplay...
No online, but it does have LAN. At least from the menu, that might be tweakable in some form.Quote:

Fuel rod cannon not really excited.
Flame thrower could be great if it blinds.
And if the banshee's are a bit more tight in the control department, multiplayer could take on a totally knew direction.
I just don't know if this will work the same online, 16 player, four tv, cramped room halo matches have been the pinnacle. I don't know if it will be the same online.
Yeah, that's what I thought.Quote:

It is better on the PC, if only for the control, and the Banshee seems cool... I'll have to play some of this at the next lan to see how it goes.
Oh, and I'm amazed that it runs on my weaker-than-an-Xbox machine. No, it doesn't look pretty, but it runs. Very scaleable.
Alright, after a bit more investigation, I think a good chunk of the singleplayer is missing from this leak, and some of the multiplayer maps are gone.
...But I tried the new multiplayer maps. Some of them, at least.
They're massive. Simple as that.
I agree. Non-upgraded models? Fuck that. Take your many new variables to the gameplay, and shove it up your ass!Quote:
