The Liverpool match on Sunday was awful. No-one on the team seams settled. Owen is starved for service. Kewell has not adusted. Heskey is just plain awful... and Houllier's tactics seem off. A lot of supporters think the sky is falling, and it could well be (esp after last year's frustration).. but I still have hope they can turn it around. There is a lot of quality in the side and I still have faith in Houllier. Heskey needs to be dropped though, he's awful and Baroš is so much better. The only positive was that Diouf looked pretty good, maybe he can break out this season. Wednesday's match should be telling....

The Man City-Blackburn match today was pretty entertaining. I've developped a real soft spot for City (esp because of all the ex-Reds) and I hope they do well this year. Another team I am enjoying is Pompey, thanks mainly to the presence of my all time favourite player - Patrik Berger. Nice to see them off to a quick start. ;)

It's only the beginning of the season so keep the faith. Thing is, I used to really like Emile Heskey. But seeing him recently has made me think otherwise. Hmm...

Yeh, I usually look at the bright side of things. I am pretty hopeful they can get it together. The talent is there, it's just a matter of settling in and getting the tactics right. I hope they're up to it. :)

Some people on Liverpool forums are standing on ledges and calling for Houllier's head though... but how quickly they all forget. Houllier brought glory back to the team after the dreadful mid 90s (Spice Boys, Friedel, etc). He's accomplished a lot and I think he knows what he is doing. Last season was a step back, but that happens...

As for Heskey, I actually liked him too - before Liverpool bought him! But now I well and truly can't stand him. He's terrible. He's a big guy but he does not use his size at all. He disappears and does nowt. I don't know how he keeps his spot in the starting XI, especially with Baroš on the bench. :\

And that's the problem.

Fans and upper managment are fickle.

The problem isn't that a manager doesn't succeed, it's that he isn't given the chance or the responsability to fail and then continue.

It's like the poor bastard that becomes the English National Manager. I pity each and every one of those men.

I'm fairly surprised at how well Portsmouth is doing. Of course, they haven't really hit the tough matches yet, but still, it's neat to see them doing so well now that they're in the Premiership.

Yeah, I was hoping to see the Liverpool game, but I guess it won't be on FSWLD. Now it seems I will miss the Man Utd match as well. Good thing there is a replay. ^^

Unfortunately, this game should be a highly unentertaining slaughter. Wolves have been dreadful so far. :(
