Green, they took out the volume boost? Shit. Did they at least put in some sound effect like in the first one for it?

There's a sound effect, but you'll notice because everything gets a subtle speed blur that looks really cool and highlights the danger of just laying on the boost.
Whew, at least there's SOME audio indicator on top of the visual ones, which added a great sense of speed and danger to the previous games. Thanks for that info.
A night of play tonight to get the feel for it and unlock some cars, then online tomorrow. Wheeee!!! :D

Strange...my copy of Burnout 3 for the XBOX..doesn't vibrate the controllers...and the vibration mode is set to ON. Is anyone else experiencing this ?
I'm on in ten...
So far:
There really isn't a lot of variety between the cars in the class and it's only if you enter a game that has no restrictions will you be unable to win with a slower car.
Multiplayer, the name of the game is not starting in 1st place. There is no rubberbanding or whatever someone asked about, and if you are 10 seconds behind a guy and you both run identical, you will finish 10 seconds behind him. It's always better to start in 3rd, because some races of 6 people, you'll see a total of 3 Takedowns. Having 2 or even 1 of those, can win a game right there, with the increased Boost Guage and instant fill.
Up to Coupes now, and this game is fast, really fast. About the same level of difficulty single player as BO2, which is average and a couple days to finish. It's probably a good idea to unlock as much as you can as fast as you can.
Apart from the other things I've griped about, not having a map during the race with icons to show where you are, nor a icon to hear who's talking nor this Imaginary Bullshit excuse of PAL-NTSC no games things, it rules.
