damn, that sucks. it was #2 on my most wanted list from the Capcom 5 stuff.
movies showed a shit load of potential as far as ground battles went. oh well, no point is thinking about what could've been now.
It seems that Capcom is accelerating its way into the crapper, methinks. I sure hope that they get out of this funk soon...
I wholeheartedly agree. At this rate, they'll barely hit the 20 year mark. :xx:Quote:

I wish they would have cancelled P.N.03 instead. :p
Game looked like it wasn't gonna be that great anyway. Meh.:\
Shin Megami Tensei 9 was released months ago. How does one cancel a game that has already come out?
So which other games are among Capcom's cancelled 20? I know Red Dead Revolver merely switched publishers, but it still counts as cancelled as far as Capcom is concerned.
the xbox live version got cancelled.Quote:

I have to agree with Master of 7s. The game wasn't looking that great. However, Capcom could have done some very interesting with Dead Phoenix.
Considering that Nintendo is now hoaring out their licenses to other companies (see F-Zero/Sega, Donkey Kong/Namco), Capcom might have taken advantage of this opportunity by asking Nintendo if they could apply the Kid Icarus license to the game.
Dead Phoenix had the template for a 3-D Icarus game, with the protagonist flying around with wings. Just apply an Olympian motif with eggplant wizards (and of course good gameplay) and you have yourself another must-have Gamecube game.
And for added style, they could have made Icarus an adult and just drop 'Kid' from the title. Hell, I'd be frothing for a Capcom/Nintendo 3-D "Icarus" game.
Yeah, I'd been hearing rumors Nintendo was was just going to license Capcom to turn Dead Phoenix to a new Kid Icarus game, much in the same way they had Rare add Star Fox characters to Dinosaur Planet and turn it into Star Fox: Dinosaur Planet.Quote:

This news made me sad. I was looking forward DP, and I love Capcom games. Too bad :(
Given the unnecessary need for name changes, what would Dead Phoenix be called in the States?
Spec Ops Xtreme.
FLYING BIRD MAN! : DESTINATION CHAOS!
Mobile Light Force 3... duh!Quote:

But we need to put this in perspective. This doesn't suck nearly as much as Dee Dee Planet's cancellation back on Dreamcast.
Why did you have to bring that up?!?!Quote:

Jiji: When they say they're 'splitting off the online portion of the game', that typically means they're trying to find a way of getting rid of a promised feature without actually saying it or being held responsible to the media for it.
Sorry man. I know, it hurts. But it did make you feel better about Dead Phoenix's cancellation, right?Quote:

Who would blame capcom for killing a GC exclusive game?
Not me, it's not like that thing is flying off the shelves. I mean, fuck, from April to June Nintendo sold 80,000 GameCube units worldwide. That's not the type of numbers that get 3rd parties excited.
Releasing a game they don't think will cause them to lose money will only exacerbate that.Quote:

Bloomberg (or who ever it was) apologized for that error, they were missing a 0 at the end of the 80K.
Not that it makes the points any less valid.
But Red Dead Revolver was PS2 game, and they killed :(
Unfortunately if things will continue going this way, Killer 7 might be next :(
Is it me or are Capcom games with some form of 'death' are getting axed? (except for CFAS)
Maybe it's a joke and will revive from death.
Capcom, when is Street Fighter III collection going to come to GC? They should cash in on no-brainer ports first, then unleash fresh titles second.
BTW how do you know this game will be anything special at all? There's always the possibility that it could really suck and they cancelled it for people's benefit.
 That's just way too plausible.Quote:
